I stayed at this hotel, along with my husband, for a conference. I am almost hesitant to write this review because they are refurbishing the facility come this fall. The room is large and the bathroom is quite large by hotel standards. I really liked all the mirrors and the magnifying mirror in the bathroom. However, lighting was horrible. I don't know if this is due to changes in lightbulbs or just old age, but it was difficult to see and there was no fan in the bathroom when it got steamed up. Bed was wonderful, but furnishing looked pretty tired. Again, I know they are planning to redo it. My biggest gripe was that wake up calls were late or, one day, totally non exhistant. I was there for a conference and needed to be on time. The front desk was friendly and helpful, but didn't seem to have it together. They couldn't tell what time the conference began and only knew it was being held on the "third floor." Exercise room was excellent and the hot tub was lovely after sitting all day in hard chairs. Conference room was FREEZING dispite the group's frequent attempts to get them to change the temperature. Location is absolutely perfect. Right on busline and close to everything. Computer use was $6.95 for 15 minutes which is ridiculous, atlhough wi-fi is free. Overall, it was a good hotel, but has the potential to be much better.

We stayed in the Westin Long Beach in one of their suites that looked out toward the bay. You can just barely see little slivers of the bay in-between the tall condo buildings in front of you. It is along a busy street and you can hear fire and police sirens in the traffic below but it wasn't unbearably loud for us although it might disturb some very light sleepers. Ours was a corner room and the sleeping area is sectioned off by a wall with out a door so it is private but not quiet from whom ever might be up and about in the rest of the room. But the room seemed very quite from any hall noise or other rooms. Beware of the $10 a day charge for in-room internet use and $17 a day to park your car. There was a rather long wait at check-in. The swimming pool is small for such a large hotel. There is a lot of wear showing on the furniture and blinds and the lobby furniture was dirty and had torn fabric on many of the seats. We ate one breakfast at the hotel and decided to not eat there again. There wasn't much to choose from on the menu and the service was extremely slow even though there were only just a few other people eating there. We had to rush through our meal and then we were late for a meeting due to the slow service. We found a wonderful place for breakfast just right around the back side of the hotel named Creme de la Crepe. The crepe place has a web site, just string the name together with a .com and you can see what they serve. The hotel is within walking distance of many food establishments and there is also a free bus service called the Passport bus that doesn't take you all over town but just to the various restaurants and attractions that are nearby.

Thank you for your review. You are correct, we are located on busy Ocean Boulevard and you can definitely hear the hustle and bustle of our beach community. We apologize for your dining experience. Sometimes, our three meal restaurant does not meet the expectations of well traveled individuals like yourself.

Please know we address your concerns in our service training. Come back soon to enjoy our renovation and enhanced service levels.

Be Well.

It's somewhat telling that I was only at this hotel last week but can't remember that much about it. It wasn't that it wasn't nice - it just didn't really stand out. The lobby is massive -and the staff are friendly. I especially like the fact that the doorman always opened the door for me. It's not that I can't do it myself, obviously, but it was a nice touch. The room was alright, with the two-headed Heavenly Showers in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable with the usual excessive amount of pillows. And there is a lot of natural light in the room. I only used the gym, which was adequately equipped. From the gym, which is on the fifth floor, you can get to the pool area which has sun beds and some umbrellas if it gets too hot.
From the hotel, it is a ten to fifteen minute walk to the waterfront, where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Pine Avenue, the main street is about five minutes away.

The location is good and the hotel was great a few years ago. It is in desperate need of an update. They did part of the lobby, but furniture and rooms need updates along with hallways.

Yes, thank you for noticing we are in need of a renovation. We recently changed out the carpeting and lobby furniture which is now being followed by a 10 million dollar room renovation.

Come back and feel the new.

Great location, walk to aquarium and pier. Nice rooms, wish they has a fridge, but for a Priceline purchase I could live without. Long Beach is very pleasant and a great place from which to explore further south.

I enjoyed my stay at The Westin in Long Beach, California. The rooms were clean and housekeeping did an excellent job. The lobby had a bar and restaurant. My colleagues and I ate at the restaurant one day for lunch. The food and service were excellent! They had a very friendly restaurant staff. The manager even helped us when needed.

The hotel is in walking distance to the beach. One day I walked to the beach and took a nice long walk. The hotel is also close to the pier, which had several good restaurants. My colleagues and I ate at the seafood restaurant (cannot remember the name, but it is next door to PF Changs) one evening. It was very good. The hotel is also close to The Long Beach Convention Center, where I attended meetings.

There were a few things that I did not enjoy. First, checking into the hotel was not easy. There was a very long line for check-in, which took awhile. Second, the pool was very small. In the email that we received from the hotel, confirming our stay, there was a picture of a huge pool. The actual pool at the hotel is very small. Plus, you have to walk through the fitness center to reach it.

Had a very nice stay, I loved the big and spacious atrium.
The hotel is well kept and the room was clean and airy.
Stuff is very helpful.
Try to ask for a room which face the waterfront, if you are high enough you can get a very nice breeze.
The hotel seems to be a bit over-priced to its surrounding (downtown Long-Beach is not what it used to be).
