“Menu has Secrets-Everything Spicy!”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

Hostess Kaylee & Waitress Michelle were excellent! Michelle was attentive and made sure that everything was taken care of. We had significant issue with the sushi that we ordered (everything was spicy even though it was not indicated on the menu - even rolls that are not typically spicy anywhere else we have ever gotten sushi), and Michelle got put in the middle between us and the manager David. David did not seem to want to interact with customers, but finally came over to our table and begrudgingly replaced 3 of our 5 rolls. The replacement rolls were excellent! The ambiance was great and they are open till 2am. We would definitely return - but be sure to specify "NOT SPICY" for our order.

“Great fish, great service”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

Tumbled across this accidentally through OpenTable as it's a bit out of the main drag, but excellent fish, pad thai, appetizers, good wine list and great service. The bar side was fairly noisy, but the restaurant side was pleasant and well isolated from the bar goings-on. Would definitely try this again.

“Slightly over-rated by tripadvisor community”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Maybe it was because we ate off the happy hour menu, but there were four of us, and none felt the food was anything special. The sushi rolls were ok, but the fish was as if it had been belnded in a blender - mushy, even creamy. Calamari app was very heavily breaded - not flavorful. Dumplings were good. Hot and sour soup was good, nothing was great. But, the price was nice - so it earns an average rating from me.

A group of my colleagues went here for lunch during a conference. The atmosphere is good, the hostess and waitress were friendly. Great food and well priced.

“Good service & ambiance, mediocre sushi”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

I enjoyed my time at Wokcano; the service was excellent and the ambiance was hip and contemporary. The Thai food was good, and the drinks pretty standard, but I wouldn't recommend the sushi. I try the spicy tuna roll wherever I go, and this place had the "chop-chop" technique - essentially mushing up any semblance of tuna with spicy sauce to hide lower-quality cuts of fish. When I requested an actual cut of tuna, I was told that I would be charged extra. It's my experience that when a restaurant has nothing to hide about it's fish, they will roll the sushi with a whole cut. Go for the pad thai, noodle dishes or appetizers. Happy hour specials on appetizers and drinks were a nice touch (5pm - 1:30am).
