Owner description: Descend into the once forbidden confines of this genuine, "Cold War Warrior." Explore the torpedo rooms, the cramped crew quarters and the wide array of various valves, pipes and wires that made up this combat sub. Completely authentic, accurate and unchanged since the Cold War days, the Scorpion submarine gives guests the rare opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse of what life was like aboard a Russian submarine.

Although I'm no fan of small spaces, my hubby and I really enjoyed this little adventure. I'm not a tall woman, but I tell you, getting from one part of the sub to the next was a wee bit of a challenge for those of us who are "girly girls". Still, worth taking a look at.

I loved seeing what the sailors had to live like while on the submarine. Quite sure I couldn't do it, lol!

Wow. If you want to know what it may have felt like to live underwater in a narrow space underwater and to touch, see and smell a little bit of naval history, this attraction will not disappoint. This is a self guided tour, which allows you to enter at one end of the submarine and exit at the other end. You view the cooking, sleep and control areas of the submarine. There is an audible tour on a speaker as you walk through the narrow confines of this vessel. You must be able to climb up and down a narrow set of stairs to access the sub. You must also be able to straddle over metal ledges that separate one compartment from another. In addition, you must be able to tolerate any claustrophobia that you may experience. This is not a dry museum exhibition. You will even smell the metal and be able to touch the surfaces as you walk through. This exhibit would most likely be enjoyed by school age children and mature adults.

Having received my Dolphins while serving in the US Navy Submarine Service (on a Fleet Boat) back in the day, it was great seeing a Russian one up close. Works great along with the Queen Mary.
