Owner description: Descend into the once forbidden confines of this genuine, "Cold War Warrior." Explore the torpedo rooms, the cramped crew quarters and the wide array of various valves, pipes and wires that made up this combat sub. Completely authentic, accurate and unchanged since the Cold War days, the Scorpion submarine gives guests the rare opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse of what life was like aboard a Russian submarine.

Wow, I can't belive that sailors actually lived in theis little tiny tube underwater! this Russian submarine is so well preserved and displayed! It's hard to imagine men actually living and working in this atmosphere! This is really interesting for anyone curious about how the USSR built their subs and how they treated their servicemen! A fascinating day!

This is definitely a must see. The tour is self guided and there's quite a bit of climbing through small doors and spaces to get to other parts of the sub. I found that to be amusing and made the whole experience better but if you're disabled, probably not a great idea. Info Is very informative and lots of things to see, made me appreciate navy men much more because of what they put up with in subs!

This is a retired Russian sub in all it's cramped, working-class glory. I've only seen one other sub, and that was a US WW2 diesel boat. This Russian boat makes the US boat, which seemed cramped at the time, look like a palace.

See this for the history and to understand what submariners went through in World War 2 and the Cold war. If you've seen Hunt for Red October you have NOT seen this sub. 75 men in a floating shoebox. Equipment and guages everywhere. Little to no creature comforts. One sqaure foot is serious real estate inside a sub. Most of the rooms are walled off with glass, but you walk through the hall to see everything, and can walk into one or two rooms.

This sub is not even remotely handicapped-accessible, and even some able-bodied people will have difficulty climbing through 2 of the watertight hatches which are basically about 3-foot wide circles at just above floor level.

medium size (29 manship) still live systems, working periscope, a knowledgeable US marine officer on board you can discuss technical, tactical and strategic issues with. Still has torpedos (probably unarmed) in the chambers. Good to see.
