In June 2013, my fiancé and I (in our late twenties) stayed at Comfort Inn in Lone Pine for one night on our way from Las Vegas to Mammoth Lakes/Yosemite National Park.

Our room on the first floor had a decent size but would maybe be considered small for the US. The bathroom was small and functional. The furniture was a little worn and instead of a real blanket there was a woolen blanket and a sheet.

Breakfast was decent but the breakfast room was small and fully occupied. So was the terrace. Therefore, we had to eat breakfast on the balcony of our room (which was nice but not too practical).

The staff was very friendly and we felt welcome. There was free parking as well as free Wi-Fi.

We paid about 90€ per night for Comfort Inn. Considering this price, we choose to give the hotel 3/5 stars. Nevertheless, and due to the lack of other options in Lone Pine, we recommend the hotel and if we returned to Lone Pine, we would consider staying at Comfort Inn again.

This could be a 3 star by some standards. Great friendly service. A little out of town in nice quiet scenic area, with awesome mountain views. Nice stop after death valley drive. good pool. Nice deck to sit and eat the excellent breakfast that comes complimentary with room. Awesome waffle machine not to be missed!

We arrived late pm looking for a place to stay. We were able to get a discounted second room for the teens and it worked out well. The place was clean, staff friendly and the beds comfortable. For what we needed-- comfortable place to stay till we drove further the next day-- this worked out fine!

Had a great time, friendly staff. Good view of Mt Whitney. Danny was the desk man and was very helpful. The museum in town was fantastic.Plan to go back soon. Location on 395 is OK, not too much truck traffic.

We are just back from a road trip around California, so planning to review all the hotels and motels we have visited. This one was by far the worst place we stayed in. I can only imagine that some disgruntled guest had that morning peed all over the upstairs landing carpets, and for good measure a little into the room as well. I didn't dare take my footwear off, but I think the carpet was still damp. In fairness, when I mentioned the dodgy electrics I was given a discount, but they were hanging out of the wall kind of dodgy.
It was right on a busy highway, and the aircon was very noisy.
For the same or cheaper price, travel into lone pine proper and stay in some real character motels. Avoid.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, ask for a back room. Check that the renovation has included ripping up the...

This is a property currently under renovation, however, you really wouldn't know it. We're looking forward on our return to the breakfast. It promises to be very good and very complete. The dining area is under renovation, however the property does offer 24 hour coffee service. The rooms are old-fashioned looking but very modern. The wi-fi worked well, plenty of outlets in the room, flat screen TV and very comfortable bed. The refrigerator and micro-wave worked well and they are much appreciated in order to save money on meals.

We usually stay at the Dau Villa, but the price is becoming prohibitive and the restaurant that was next door (it was excellent) has closed and there is no eating area on the property

Staff is extremely friendly and outgoing. A fine example of customer service is the front desk staff member Daniel. He was on duty when we checked in, went over everything that we needed to know, and made us feel like we were the only guests in the motel.

It's nice that the propery is just on the edge of town. You need to drive a couple of miles, but once you reach the downtown area you are able to park your car and walk everywhere. The shops are very unique with friendly, helpful staff who don't hover over you.

Room Tip: The king size bed is very comfortable. If I remember correctly, the entire property is smoke free...
