“Tasty Lompoc Stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2007

After a morning of vineyard tours and wine drinking, friends and I sat down to a tasty selection of grilled sandwiches and homemade soups. Sissy's signature turkey/bacon and grilled eggplant/peppers were standouts on the menu. Cheery atmosphere and friendly service make this a nice stop after a morning of wine tasting in the near by "ghetto".

“Great Place For Lunch While Wine Tasting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2007

I had a nice lunch here with a group of friends while wine tasting at Sea Smoke, Brewer-Clifton and Palmina in the Lompoc wine ghetto. Everyone was happy with the food and the service was fast and efficient. Sandwiches are the way to go at the lunch hour and I liked the signature turkey and bacon sandwich on toasted sourdough bread the best of the ones we tried. The restaurant has a strong local following and a great reputation in the area. I asked a few locals where I should have lunch and everyone consistently said that Sissy's is the place in Lompoc.

“Local's Love Sissy's”

The ONLY place to eat in Lompoc. I love the Turkey, Bacon, and Cotswald on Grillled Sourdough and the service is always friendly and efficient.

“Best all around!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2006

Sissy’s Uptown Café is an excellent place to stop for lunch, whether for a noontime workday meal or just a nice stop on your way through town.

The lunch menu varies daily. The foods are fresh and healthy as well. A sandwich will come with soup or salad, not french fries or chips. There is no wilted lettuce or droopy tomatoes here; only fresh, colorful veggies make it to your table.

The dinner menu is a bit pricey for the area (a steak dinner will set you back about $30.00 without any drinks or desserts added in), but the daily lunch menu boasts fresh homemade breads and overflowing, deliciously filled sandwiches, succulent home-made soups, desserts that are truly melt-in-your-mouth luscious, and of course, a prolific wine menu.

The ambiance at Sissy’s is startling. The front dining area has brightly painted walls, large windows, open ceilings. The noise echoes, both from the diners and from the cooks in the kitchen, which can occasionally be overheard above the din, much like an old family roadside diner. However, in the back dining room, a quieter, softer dining experience awaits, with linen tablecloths and low ceilings. Both make for an enjoyable dining experience.

Another great feature is their new “wine room” gift shop, with a surprisingly large selection of local wines and wine-lover gifts. Rumor has it that they plan to open the gift shop up as a tasting room as well, so I’m looking forward to that experience, which promises to be as interesting and as appealing as curling up with a good book in front of a roaring fireplace on a cold night.

Whether you’re in the area because you live here or just because you're visiting Lompoc, Sissy’s Uptown Café is a dining experience you won’t want to miss!

“Santa Barbara Wine and Food Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2006

Sissy's Uptown Café is one of the best places to eat and drink in Lompoc. The atmosphere is full of light, the food is fresh, and the wine list has more local (small producer) labels than can be found anywhere in the area. We had a great meal and a fantastic desert. As our meal ended the owner came out to chat and she was kind enough to introduce us to one of the local wine makers who happened to be there at the same time. We had a great experience in one of the last undiscovered gems of the central coast of California.
