Long and swervy road and you reach a beautiful beach that is amazingly blue. Super packed during the summer. Families and rv's everywhere you look. Great time!

“Views That Go Forever”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Did NOT like the $10 day use fee so drove in and out and went back up the road to enjoy the fabulous views of the Pacific. The water is turquoise blue.

“Beautiful Beach!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

My family and I were just there this weekend and we had a great time! We're already talking about returning next summer. It very much feel's like you're in a private beach. The park is small, but that's the charm. We had a great spot with an ocean view, moutain view and close to the restrooms. Anywhere in the park looks like a nice spot since it's not that big. We saw a family of deer's, and even heard the coyote's cry during the night. YES- it was cold at night and windy periodically in the afternoon- but that's what you expect when you are camping at the beach. We were very fortanate to have beautiful weather with clear blue sky. The beach was lovely and kids enjoyed playing in the sand and water. They also had fun on the basketball court and park. Bikes are a good idea to take as well. The Jalama Burger was SOOO GOOD!!! The showers were decent, I paid 1.50 not sure for how long but I was able to take a nice calm shower. The bathrooms were useable but could deffinitly use some TLC.
Can't wait to go back next year!

“Love this beach!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Off the beaten path is a beautiful county beach park. Camping here is terrific. In the summer months is it full all the time. It used to be first come first served but that has changed in recent years and now you can make reservations. It's not a huge place so even when it's full you still have beach space and elbow room. The weather as with anywhere is unpredictable so be prepared for anything. Wind is especially an issue on many days. This beach is a favorite of surfers and wind surfers, but it is great just for a long walk or beach combing for interesting shells. At low tides there are wonderful tide pools to be explored and the fishing is pretty good at high tide. Best of all your dogs are welcome. There is a cute little store and restaurant where you can purchase the famous "Jalama Burger" a favorite for people far and wide.
