for what this place is its really a nice place, believe it or not a quite place also and we were there on a Saturday and really loose slots for the gambling ones. the rooms are spacious beds are comfortable like they should be as the place is not to old relatively new. parking is easy even though its a casino if you cant find a parking place they well park your car for you I liked this place and would stay here again its not the Ritz or Hilton but your not paying for that but what you are getting is a nice relaxing roam

Room Tip: go have fun play some slots or cards don't pay extra for a view its not worth it there's rea...

It is great to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. It is good to know that you appreciated the spacious rooms and the comfortable beds. We are glad you were able to utilize our complimentary valet parking. Also, we do have the loosest slots on the North Coast, so we were happy to see you discovered that as well. Thank you for posting your review and come see us again sometime soon.

We are living our stay here. The hotel is new and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spatious. But oh, the beds are great!!! I have a bad back and most hotel beds are torture. The beds here are firm but not too firm, and soooo comfy.

Bonus is the location. I came here on business in Eureka and was worried sbout being so far out. But I didn't know how much is enjoy discovering the sights and eats of Ferndale, Fortuna, and Loleta.

Great job, Bear River!

It is wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us. We love the beds here as well. It is especially nice to hear how much you enjoyed the area. There are all kinds of wonderful things to do and see in the local area, from the mighty Redwood trees to the quaint Victorian village of Ferndale. Many of the sights can only be seen here. Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience with us and come back real soon.

The hotel was great. We had a great stay and even though its a casino. We enjoyed a quiet comfortable new room. The kids came and stayed next to use. The price was great, the only thing i would change was the snack shack was in casino. the kids could not accompany us. there is a family restaurant though. more then we wanted to pay for a quick bit.

We are always happy to hear that our guests believe our hotel to be great. We were thrilled to see that you found us to be a great value. We were sorry to see that you scored our rooms so low, considering all of the good things you had to say about the property as a whole. We would hope to give a better impression on your return trip up!

This hotel is new, clean, and comfortable. Nothing particularly special or remarkable about it, but the quality is on par with many other name brand budget hotels on the side of the highway. This is one of the newer hotels in the area though, so the rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, and bathrooms/showers are great. Restaurant was fine, not bad, but nothing special. Don't set your expectations too high and you'll be pleased with this place as a one night stop over on your drive up/down the coast.

Spent three nights at Bear River Resort and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms were very nice. Front desk was outstanding. Was looking at rooms in Eureka/Arcata to visit my son. Was not impressed with anything there and ended up at Bear River. For only a few dollars more we had a superb experience.

We got 2 rooms at Bear River on our recent family vacation to the NW coast because the room rate was so reasonable. Very friendly staff from the get go. Free parking in the garage and the elevator from the garage also went up to the rooms. Bonus! The restaurant was great, too.

If you are looking for a hotel in the Eureka area, I'd suggest you give this one a try. It's fairly new and the hotel (NOT the casino) is all non-smoking rooms. We were lucky enough to have an Executive Suite with a balcony overlooking the Bear River Valley. Amazing view, great bed, very comfortable room, great room-service breakfast, and a nice restaurant. It would be a great base for exploring this area of the Redwoods. The bell captain was very nice in suggesting a hiking trail area and a nearby county beach where few people go. Great to get off the beaten path for a while.

We stayed two nights and would be happy to stay there again. The pool is small and there is not much for kids to do at the hotel but over all this is a great place. Quiet location (though the gas station across the road has traffic all night.

Not sure of the other rooms but the design of the new marble shower in our room floods the bathroom floor....and no soap/shampoo shelf. No place to put cloth, soap or shampoo except the floor. Sort of odd, I think.

Room Tip: I can't speak for the rooms without a valley view but loved the valley view - which looks all th...

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your stay with us. We were glad to hear you had the chance to enjoy the view and the food here. We take pride in our ability to deliver a good room service and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Our bellmen are always eager to anticipate any questions and offer any help they can.

Thank you for mentioning the issue you had with the shower. We are actively working on installing new shower glass for each shower. Unfortunately, the bathroom you were in was a handicapped room and that is why the shower did not have any soap dishes added to it. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused you. We hope to see you again on your next trip up the North Coast.
