Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lodi/North Stockton
Ranked #10 of 13 Hotels in Lodi

My daughter and I stayed at this motel for only one night. I booked a reservation in advance. We arrived at the motel around 8:30 pm. It looked nice both from the exterior and the lobby. It is a newer building. The motel clerk (Indian national) who checked us in spoke with a heavy accent and was a bit hard to understand. He was all business, charged my credit card and said hardly a word. We went to our room and opened the door. I wasn't expecting a luxury room, just something clean and comfortable. It stunk, I mean literally. There was a foul order like you couldn't imagine. On top of that odor, the cleaning person had sprayed some sort of air fragrance that made the air almost un-breathable. It was late, my daughter and I still hadn't had dinner, so I figured I would just turn the air conditioning to fan and open the window. The air conditioning didn't work right and it started throwing even a nastier smell into the room. I shut it off and opened the window. There was no screens on the window, but at that point I really didn't care. Fortunately the wind was blowing pretty strong. We left and got something to eat.
When we returned the room was a little better, but still smelled. We left the window open until we went to bed. The next morning it was again almost unbearable.

Room cleanliness left a bit to be desired. There was fingerprints and smudges on the nightstands and dressers. The floor had not been vacuumed well. There were a little bits of lint and debris on the carpet. The microwave was dirty. The ice bucket bag looked like it had been used. The bathroom appeared clean enough in the bright light, but after seeing the dust, fingerprints and smudges on the bedroom furniture, I decided to take no chances. I wiped down the counter and toilet with disinfecting wipes. The toilet had not be sanitized.

The TV worked OK, but you only had like 5 stations. The bed was comfortable enough, but I kept wondering if the sheets had been previously laundered.

Restaurants are not nearby. There are only fast food places. The motel isn't really in Lodi, so for a real meal you will have to drive. The free breakfast consisted of frozen waffles, toast, cereal, milk, juice and coffee.

I wasn't expecting a 4 or 5 star hotel, just a clean comfortable room where the few amenities worked. When people make a reservation, is it really to much to ask for the manager to check out the room before the guests arrive? The place wasn't busy. Is it to much to expect clean floors,tables/appliances and an air conditioning unit that works? Maybe some breathable air? Microtel Inns are privately owned. So as with most service related businesses the end result depends on the management. This motel needs better management.

I've stayed at this motel several times and every time it has been wonderful. The staff is very hepful and very nice, always ready to help, Every time I go there is something new, They have good location, there are many restaurants within walking distance they have continental breakfast. they have a nice pool so I can catch some rays. Allways a nice place to stay would recommend to anyone

Very small room with queen bed. Clean, and quiet except for a dog somewhere down the hall. Heater/cooler worked efficiently and without too much noise--a rare treat. Overall effect: basic motel which did its job with no fanfare but no faults, either. One nice touch was an upholstered window seat as a sitting place in the room.
Free breakfast was like the motel, okay but nothing startling: sweet gloppy Danish, sticky-sweet blueberry muffins, but also juice, toast, instant oatmeal, dry cereal, toaster waffles, and fruit to go. Coffee not bad.
Location is very convenient to the Interstate, but several miles from town and restaurants.

Only 2 hotels at this exit and the other one was full. Now I know why it's called MICROtel. The rooms aren't much bigger than a closet. The TV was on top of the cabinet for hanging up clothes - no closet in the room. No hair dryer in the bathroom. Only ice machine located in the lobby. Staff was very unfriendly. Someone drove up in an SUV pulling a trailer and pulled across 4 handicapped spaces at the front door. We complained because my husband needs that type of parking. We were ignored and told to park elsewhere. That vehicle was allowed to stay there all night. There was a continental breakfast but the entire area was dirty so we didn't eat there. There's a buffet across the street that was also very dirty so we drove 5 miles in to Lodi to find a restaurant. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Had a house fire and the insurance company set us up here for 10 nights. They cleaned our room 5 times. apparently if they come by your room at 7 am and the do not disturb sign is on the door that extends throughout the entire day even when you take it off the door as you leave at 7:30. we were in a "suite" 1 bed NO dresser, room was horribly stuffy and if you tried to leave the a/c on or the window open so that you could come into a decent temperature, you were fine if they decided to skip cleaning your room that day, but if it was cleaned they made sure you came into a room that was about 85 degree when its only 75 tops outside. if you gotta find a place to stay just for the night it might be ok but if you liek a hotel that actually keeps things clean this probably isnt the place for you.

Very clean. Right off of Highways 5 and 12 about 3 miles from center of town and the Lodi Wine Country.
