After hearing "why are you going to Lodi?" so many times, its places like this that make it worth it.
Very surprised how nice the downtown area was. This place has great lunches, Very large portions, everything is fresh and service was great. Will surely be back.

We go at least twice a month, sometimes more. I'm a cheese steak freak & I'm telling you this is the best. Makes me want one right now. The gentlemen that wait on you are always nice. You will be an addict like me, OINK.

I have been traveling through Lodi for 50 years. Rarely was there a reason to stop. Especially in the summer. While it has always been a center for agriculture and zinfandel it had little charm and almost no local identity. Lately the area has caught on with wine tasting and the downtown reflects a substantial step up. This place helps continue that climb. It would fit right in on Alberta or Division in Portland, hip staff, locally sourced ingredients, thin crust wood fired pizza, mismatched furniture but still a comfortable place to linger. If you want a long meal come just after the rush so you have to wait for a table then spend the wait in great back room wine tasting area. If you are a guy you will be outnumbered 9 to 1 at lunch. Gal? Go for breakfast when all the suits in town are noshing on pastry and coffees.

We were in Lodi for the wine and chocolate festival. We ,et fronds at The Dancing Fox twice; once for lunch and once for breakfast. Lunch was not at a time when the restaurant was full. In fact, we had to get a wait servers attention to finally be waited on.Breakfast was different. It was a busy time at the restaurant. Both meals were good. Worth the price of the meal.

The inside of the restaurant is worth seeing. It is an older building and quit picturesque.

there is also a wine tasting room in the back of the restaurant that features Dancing Fox Wines.

The Dancing Fox deserves at least one visit when in Lodi.

We chose this restaurant and wine tasting room based on the reviews here on trip advisor.
We came for lunch. Apparently they provide pretzels only at dinner (or for purchase after 5 pm).
My husband really enjoyed his tri tip steak sandwich. I had the smaller cranberry and nut salad with chicken, which would have been excellent had it not been drowned in too much salad dressing. A bit pricey, but very good. While we waited for our lunch, we tasted their wines. A very pleasant way to spend part of an afternoon, but we had come for the pretzels, and never got them.
