“A dining gem on the Mendocino Coast with Ocean View Guest Rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014

Little River Inn on the Mendocino Coast, with comfortable, great ocean view guest rooms, and full bar with ocean views (surprisingly hard to find ocean views on the coast), and a wonderful restaurant with charming garden views, and a superior, creative dinner menu, with local fish, produce, etc., and great local wine list. Three nights hearing the ocean surf; a fun 9 hole golf course, with separate tees to make 18 holes, built in 1957, among redwoods, deer, etc., makes for a wonderful get-away.

“Nice place with a great view”

This is a really nice place to eat with a great view. During whale season you can seat at the bar and whale watch. The food is really good, and the staff if very friendly.

“With That View, Who Sees the Food?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2014

We had a reservation. We made it to take advantage of the early spring sunset. But when we got to the restaurant and realized the dining room was in back and the bar overlooked the coast, our die was cast. We were sitting at the bar.

We generally like to sit at the bar because that is where you get the best advice and the free entertainment. In this case the inn was full of a group who met once a year and did wine tasting. They were the entertainment. Fortunately for us they retreated to the dining room after a little while so we could enjoy our dinner...and the sunset.

So we did not get the white table cloth service from the experience waitstaff that other reviewers will talk about. What we did get was the nearly undivided attention of two bartenders, two delicious mainstays of the Little River Inn menu and one gorgeous sunset.

My wife had the chicken quesadilla. No ordinary quesadilla, this one was stuffed with plenty of chicken with a side of guacamole. A full meal. I had Mama's meatloaf. How much more do you have to say? Pure comfort food on a cold spring day with a glass of North Coast Brewing beer.

Good service, good food, extraordinary view.

“Little gem”

Just love the bar and restaurant at the little river inn. I ate at the bar - while the menu is a bit limited the food was great. The locals also like this place - personally that speaks volumes
