Had breakfast here, it was delicious. Eggs Benedict, amazing. Service was great. Our waiter told us they have a dog friendly dining room, with one table! We made a reservation for dinner and actually brought our little pug (who is pretty much a human in a fur coat). Reservation required as it is a totally separate room on the other side of the bar. It was so fun to have a nice dinner inside with our little buddy! The food was really good too. The clam chowder was the best we had all weekend. Our waiter was really nice and it couldn't have been a better evening.

Enjoy a cocktail at the bar and watch out the window at whale spouts off the Mendocino coast and sit in the dining room looking out on the English garden. Relaxing atmosphere and a big menu offering variety. We ate off the appetizer menu- steamed clams, crab cake, garlic broccolini, baked brussel sprouts and ollalaberry cobbler. Nice wine by the glass. Room service too for those staying at the inn. The Inn employs locals - high schoolers too - all very friendly and who know what's up.

The view from the bar is fantastic at sunset, or actually, any time of day. Happy Cocktail Hour! The Sunday brunch is delightful. I've frequented this establishment since the early 70's, still one of my favorite haunts.

We were told at our lodging that this restaurant had a table set aside just for people with dogs. Since our little guy is well behaved and we like to bring him anywhere that we can, we made a reservation.

The inn has a table in a separate room just for a party with a dog. It was just off the entry, near the front desk so we heard everything going on there, for better or worse. Our server was very attentive, even though he was quite a few extra steps from the dining room and the kitchen.

Our food was quite good. The wine selection was excellent, both local and foreign. The desserts were out of this world.

The place was packed…it felt like a good place locals might enjoy. They advertise no corkage for local wines (which we thought was a real nice gesture and supportive for the local winery community.) But when we arrived with wine the "going in" position was to inform us of a $15 per bottle corkage fee until we inquired about their policy and they inspected our wine to be local. After that they simply opened the bottles and left us to pour our own. So they almost got it right…the server never gets the corkage fee…so why did she not pour the wine? The menu was sufficient for about any appetite. The food was actually pretty mediocre. We ordered entree portions of crab cakes (which was difficult to do…we had to specify the number of cakes to put on the plate instead of getting server/kitchen suggestions), salmon and meatball pre fix meal. All in all it was a pretty average meal.
