[review of the breakfast dining, not the Sunday brunch or dinner dining] Always a pleasure to eat breakfast at the Little River Inn. Most of the tables in the main dining room face a hillside and have a garden view. A smaller dining room, located at the front of the building and adjacent to the full-service bar, has tables with an ocean view. The menu is the same in either room -- as is the excellent service. We had hoped to order Olallieberry blintzes but the menu item is only available on weekends. So I ordered oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar ($6) and my wife ordered an avocado-bacon-cheese omelette ($10). As a special extravagance I also ordered Olallieberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream ($7). Oh, yes... very tasty! As we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, we looked out the window at the ocean. No push from anyone to hurry up and finish. Just a nice beginning to another day on the Mendocino coast... "Traveling the world one meal at a time..."

We had a wonderful meal here during our stay in Mendocino. We were given a table overlooking the garden, which is beautiful. The service was outstanding and the food was too. I ordered the flat iron steak which was cooked perfectly. My husband had a fish dish that was really good also. It was a Tuesday night and the place was very busy. Seemed like many of the people dining were regulars - always a good sign.

Crab cakes are outstanding! Great wedge salad. Lamb shank was "melt-in-mouth" yummy.

You'd better be hungry! Dinner classics are prepared perfectly and served in generous portions. The iceberg lettuce salad with bleu cheese dressing & bacon would make a meal in itself. The steak was a juicy medium rare and large enough to take half home for a midnight snack. If you're lucky, you'll be seated at one of two tables with a magnificent ocean view. Dress is anything from casual to dressy.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local resident. We had their swedish pancakes for breakfast one morning, complete with sausage, their Ollalieberry jam, and their wonderful fresh-squeezed orange juice!! Then we went back the next day for dinner and were equally pleased. Their tomato bisque soup was very good, the crab cake appetizer delicious, and we even splurged on dessert - their caramel apple bread pudding and their creme brulee! Yum! Excellent service, too!!!
