We had dinner here recently. We got off to a rocky start, but fortunately the food made up for it. We had dinner reservations at 7, arrived about 5 minutes early and the waitress/hostess asked us to give her a minute. We weren’t seated until 7:20, but hadn’t been told it’d take that long, so it was aggravating. They have about 10 tables and 2 waitstaff - should be enough, but clearly it isn’t. Hire a busboy!! We brought wine and we charged the $20 corkage fee, although all she did was open it and pour it once. The food, however, was so good that we would go back in spite of service shortfalls. We had the bouillabaisse and the halibut. Being east coasters, we’re not loving the fish here, but I have to say that was the best halibut I have ever had, anywhere. Very generous thick cut piece cooked to perfection. It’s served in a coconut broth, which doesn’t sound appealing, but believe me, it is. All the fish was very fresh and delicious. I had the homemade vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate sauce, which was excellent but quite overpriced at $12. It was our anniversary though, so I had it anyway! If you want good seafood, have it there, just don’t expect the room (small and cramped) or the service to be at the level of the food.
