“Simple but nice.”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

We stopped on our way north from Santa Rosa. Only a short trip off the highway, but with little traffic noise. Mike was good company, and my kids loved hanging out on the doorstep. Expect to unplug! Very clean and quiet.

That motel was definitively French the night when we stopped, last july. 14 French friends, 8 bikes and a van, so all the place was booked for lodging our group !
What a welcoming from the owner, Mike, who did all he could to let you spend a marvellous evning in that charming place.
The motel is nice, calm, a little far from the highway, in a wood, with a great charm.
The rooms are clean, nice and agreable. Some of them with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room seem like a really flat. Spacious and well taste furnished.
But the best of the best was the kindness and the fully attention of the owner about us. The grassy courtyard, the barbecue, the plates and all the stuffs we need to succeed our barbecue party have been provided by him. Regularly, he came to see if we need something or if something was missing. A very smart man.
The day after, he provides us some towels to get the humidity off our bikes.
This place, typical of the charm of the 50's but with the convenience of today and this owner, Mike, will rest as the best souvenir we have had with all the place where we stay during our trip and the evening that we spent here will rest as a great moment.
It is a place that you leave with regrets. I expect to return here as soon as possible.

Fantastically quiet accommodation , clean and spacious . No TV and internet to disturb the peace. The owner was very friendly and helpful on our arrival and gave us tips about the local area. Couldnt fault the place actually but if you have a family or like to be connected electronically to the outside world you might want to think again but for us it was perfect as a stop over whilst driving south.

Small, quaint and very clean rooms...very nice owners. Price was right. No TV or Internet...so we had to break out the cards! Also...very, very comfortable bed! The location was off the main road so very quiet which meant leaving the windows open so the cool night air could come in was perfect. There was ample blankets to keep you warm.

My two adult kids and I took a road trip up the California Coast and I just had to try this place. It was reasonable and we could each have our own sleeping area. If you want or need the uniformity and predictability of a chain hotel with wifi and HBO, this is not your place. If you are looking for an amazingly clean, comfortable and affordable cottage type place you have to try it. Mike and his wife could not have been nicer or more helpful. I would definitely go back, though I do not recommend driving across the mountains without a full tank of gas and hours of sunlight!

We loved this place. Spent just one night here on this trip, but will definitely stay again if we're in the area. The location is peaceful and serene. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Flowers everywhere, birds of all kinds, and you're bound to see a deer or two close by. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He told us where we could eat in town, gave us recommendations on things to see on Hwy 1, along with a free map and even had towels hanging on our motorcycles the next morning to wipe them down. The rooms are very clean and neat. Our rooms had very nice, hand made patchwork quilts. Ours was beautiful. The place has the feel of a country side bed and breakfast. Outside there is a courtyard with picnic tables, a two person swing and a BBQ. It is a very picturesque setting, and a great place to relax. Also of note! It's located about 2 minutes from The Chandelier Tree, one of the few remaining Drive Thru Redwoods. Definitely worth seeing while in the area.

However, if you are the type of person that is glued to your smartphone 12 hours a day, cant pry yourself away from your laptop while on vacation, or addicted to TV... this probably is not the place for you. Why? Because you won't have any of it. That's right, no TV, no internet or wifi, no cell phone coverage and no phone in your room.

That being said, if you want a good night sleep in a quiet, clean room in a beautiful setting. This place is for you. Think of it as a vacation from all the stuff that makes vacation so difficult!

As I said, we loved it, and would definitely go back!

I was a little hesitant when my husband booked this place in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception, no phones, no TVs…but what a nice surprise! Back to simple pleasures!

Yes there was dated decoration and furniture but I thought it added to the charm of this little motel. I was surprise by how clean this place was. And the landscaping was well kept. We got the 2 room suite that had a small kitchenette with 2 twin beds. The other room had a queen size bed and a small bathroom with shower. We only stayed one night because it was a place for us to break up our long drive up north. Having no cell phone reception and no TV was nice. I brought UNO to help pass our time. My 3 kids, husband and I loved it! We stayed up for hours just playing and talking.
