Owner description: The bottom of this tremendous redwood tree has been hollowed out so that cars can drive through it.

The drive-thru redwood tree is one of those tacky tourist attractions you HAVE to visit. It only costs $5.00 but just to say you've been there, done that is worth it. There's a gift shop located there as well which has a lot of locally-made souvenirs which I prefer buying instead of the "Made in China" variety. There's also a few picnic tables there. And the redwoods! Unbelievable to think these trees are thousands of years old! Check out the website, especially the FAQs. Word of advice -- depending on the car or SUV you have, it could be tight squeeze. We had a mini-van and it was a tight squeeze going thru the tree.

Drive Thru Tree Park is a great experience for those folks who are just passing through and don't have time to more fully experience the Redwoods. At $5 per car it is truly a bargain! The gravel road adds to the experience keeping things as rustic as possible. A truly unique spot to stop and stretch out the legs!

Always wanted to do this ! Tree seems smaller than I expected but the compact hire car got through with the wing mirrors folded. Gift shop full of things you wish you had never bought, but hey it was worth $5, and much better than the shrine drive thru tree up the road!

I loved this stop. We spent almost an hour here stretching our legs and walking around. You certainly could just go in and take your photos look around and be gone in less time. The entrance greeter and gift shop attendant were very nice. It didn't take us long to go through and get the pictures we wanted. It was off season but still green and a beautiful day. There was certainly more to be done there but we did have to get back on the road. Would be good to have a picnic here and walk off driving for a little. Our dog loved smelling the new smells!

I've always wanted to see the giant trees and drive through one so this was a must on my list to do during a road trip to California. Cute little gift shop too!
