“No good”
Reviewed June 17, 2008

Overprised, old, most things are broken, we paid $125.
Its better to stay overnight in Nevada en go the next day to Yosimitie. There is no lakeview, only some garbage in the backyard.
Never again.......

Lee Vining is a tiny and friendly place and this accommodation fit in beautifully. Set in pretty grounds right next to a grocer, souvenir shop and diner, we were met with a smile and efficient service.
Our room was very large, clean and comfortable (although the pillows were kind of high), with the heater turned on in anticipation of our arrival. Besides the usual (bed, TV etc) we had a kitchenette with microwave, sink and fridge. All worked as it should.

  • Liked — Having a kitchenette
  • Disliked — Pillows were too high

We live in Reno and were looking for a weekend getaway that was close to home, but something new. This area was a great choice for us! The area was amazing. The fall colors were beautiful, Mono Lake was unique and there were many great places to explore. The location of the motel was great. It's in a small town right next to restaurants and a great walking trail across the street that went a couple miles along a creek before heading up to the Mono Lake visitor center. The hotel has an amazing garden area with plenty of places to sit and relax. We had a room with 2 queen sized beds and it was HUGE! Our 20 month old had a ball running around in it. The room was very clean and the front staff was very nice. The room had a small refrigerator and a microwave. I'm pretty picky when we go anywhere because I want something very clean, affordable and easy to get to and this hotel had it all! I would definitely recommend it!

It's ok to stay there for a night or two. Typical motel room,, clean. The WiFi was quite slow. Unfortunately no lake view.

We have been there in November and no restaurant was open that time! In thate case you have to drive 14 miles to June Lake or 28 miles to Mammoth or Bridgeport.

First came to Lee Vining In June of 2007 for a birding event hosted by the Mono Lake Committee. We found the Lake View Lodge to be the ideal location. Reserved a upstairs room with two beds, large modern and very clean. It was also nice to have wireless Internet in our room. The people that checked us in were very friendly and helpful. With many mature trees and beautiful flowers, grounds were awesome. One of the committee's events was held in gardens at the lodge it was very pleasant. Dinner was at the Mono Inn overlooking Mono Lake. Had a very delightful experience. Mono Lake is a great place to view birds. We returned in November, The rates were great (off season) under $80.00. Weather was cool but no crowds.

  • Liked — Friendly staff, The grounds and landscaping was a birders paradise. Dinning at the Mono Inn.
  • Disliked — Our stay in June was a very busy time of year. Would advise to make a reservation in the summer months.

My husband and I stayed in one of the cozy cottages and it was great. They are so cute, decorated very cozy. We really enjoyed the porch outside, we sat outside at night and relaxed. The atomsphere is pleasant. We were able to cook in the cabin, it has a little kitchen area but you must bring your our untensils. It was fun. The Lodge also has beatuiful garden areas where you can sit and look at the lake or just enjoy the flowers. We would definitely stay there again. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable

We stayed at the Lake View Lodge in Lee Vining, CA for a weekend when we visited Mono Lake. We paid $109 per night with the AAA discount which seemed like a lot for what you got, but a few of the motels in the area were sold out in advance. The room was clean and basic with no real view of the lake. There were about a dozen cable stations on the TV, a coffeemaker and hair dryer. It was fine for what we needed as there were not a lot of options in the area anyway.

  • Liked — Within walking distance to restaurants.
  • Disliked — Overpriced.
