“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

I stayed two nights while attending a wedding. The hotel is very modern, clean, and friendly. I would definitely stay here again, if I was in the area. There is a ferry very close to the hotel, if you want to go into San Francisco.

We visited San Francisco during the U.S. Open in June 2012 so everything in the city was booked solid and we had to come north to Larkspur to find accommodations. We were concerned that we'd waste a lot of time driving into the city each day, but we were pleasantly surprised how quickly accessible San Francisco is from Larkspur. The hotel is in a beautiful location. Even the parking lot smells really good because of the wonderfully-scented foliage. We didn't take the ferry because it was more cost-effective to park in the city than to buy ferry tickets for four people each way, but the ferry was very close and convenient. This was an excellent "base camp" for exploring Marin and Sonoma counties as well as San Francisco itself. The room was pleasant and convenient and generously-sized. We opted to buy our own breakfast off-site so we didn't have any hassles with hotel restaurants or room service. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Our ground-floor room featured its own outdoor entrance through a charming stone garden pathway. Thi...

We were in San Francisco for 4 nights and choose to stay in Larkspur to save on the hotel room and to have more space. We had a suite with 2 Queen beds and a fold out couch,we had plenty of space and the room was clean. Also it had free parking and was convenient to shopping and restaurants.
It is clearly a business oriented hotel and I found the staff a unfriendly and aloof. Its like they all work at the high end purse counter at Saks. We left our do not disturb sign on our door by accident one morning,so our room didn't get cleaned or have fresh towels. When I went to the desk with our towels to ask for fresh ones, the two women at the desk acted like I was carrying toxic waste. They offer to take the towels and didn't tell me or suggest where I could put them. They said they would call housekeeping to bring some more and stared at me like I was a little crazy. I asked if I should put my towels outside my door and they nodded and they went back to talking to each other. Also, don't been fooled into thinking they have laundry facilities. They have 1 washer and 1 dryer for the whole hotel. Like I said def. a business hotel and not really family or vacation friendly.
There is an area to get food and coffee, but you can't really call it a "restaurant" it was more like reheated or quick fried airplane food. Everything had a prepackaged feel. They may do some cooking in the back but it was minimal. The free coffee was awful but there was Starbucks for sale that was good.

Took a little while to find the hotel from the Ferry as it is tucked around the back of the shops. They could do with a sign or a large flag for people not familiar with the location.

Perfectly good business hotel with extremely helpful staff, good food/drink and a DIY food shop for travellers coming and going at all hours.

The pool is small but great for a dip before the sun goes down.

Room Tip: If you are on the ground floor overlooking the pool remember that for security the doors lock behind...

There's really just nothing special about this hotel. The location is stunning with shopping & restaurants within walking distance. The ferry ride to San Francisco is literally across the street.

The disappointment is the hotel itself - so outdated & no attention to any details or updates.

Staff: lobby team was very nice and receptive/

Room: the 'king suite' is actually a studio with the bed taking up what should be a living room. The bathroom is super tacky with very cheap supplies - shampoo / conditioner. The hairdryer is so stuck to the wall that you can't move from the sink. Seriously - just put a decent hairdryer in a nice cloth bag! Towels are super rough and cheap!

Coffee: yuck! that's all I can say - it's just yuck. Not worth the effort

Room Service: not an option - boo!

Lobby: Starbucks mini restaurant in the lobby where you can get basic ready made food

Parking: plentiful & no charge

Noise: stayed on 2nd floor and could hear people walking above me late at night

Bed/Pillows/Covers: all comfy

Wifi: free and quick

This is a great hotel for exploring the Marin County area. It is a typical Courtyard, with a nice pool. The free parking is a bonus in the bay area. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. It is a short drive to Tiburon and Sausalito, where you will find many restaurant options with awesome views of San Francisco across the bay, both are fun places to spend a few hours.

Part of the Courtyard chain of Marriott properties, this one is special, because the locale
is quiet, set back from highway noise and traffic, and just a block away from Larkspur
restaurants and shopping. A quick car trip can get you over to the Trader Joes,
Whole Foods,Ecci Gelato in Mill Valley or a few blocks to the Ferry over to San Francisco
and all it has to offer. Perhaps this Courtyard is a bit higher price points than most, it
is well worth it and substantially less expensive than comparable noisy hotels in San Francisco
or next to the highway properties in Mill Valley and other Marin County towns.

Room Tip: Ask the front desk for the quietest rooms available while booking.
