“Locals who just now finally decided to try the place”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

For years we've viewed this crowded restaurant and wondered what all the fuss was about. Well, we wonder no more. Finally made the trek and boy was it good.

Casual, lively and a bit noisy, but great food served up in an environment which encourages sharing with your fellow table mates.

We went ultra casual with a salad, the mini burger plate and a side of fries, along with a couple of drinks,

Service was top quality and attentive. The food arrived in a measured manner consistent with a well paced meal and the quality was excellent. I found it interesting that the chef positions himself at the outside service window to make sure everything is up to snuff, and it is.

Everybody around us seemed to be enjoying things as well. What's not to like. And the bartender that night...what a friendly guy (Justin). And a great mix master as well. Terrific server (Whitney)...and worth asking for her table station if you'd like attentive and informed meal service.

“Very good food, drink and experience but pricey”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Had dinner with friends and the place did not disappoint. We ordered several items so that we could sample. The Tuna Appetizer, Avocado Bruschetta, and Baby Lettuce Salad were our starters. All delicious! Then, the Risotto (one of the creamiest I've ever had) and baby burgers were de-lish. The only item that I probably would not order again was the fish (Halibut, I believe). It was quite pricey but not very tasty. It came with a creamy Corn side that was good. But, the dish was $30 + and not very flavorful. For dessert, we had the dense chocolate torte with caramel ice cream and spiced nuts. It was very good. I also want to add that the service was impeccable, from the bar servers and wait staff to the valet. The food came in waves and everything flowed very smoothly. Although pricey, we will definitely be back.

“Best Risotta Of All Time”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

We've enjoyed many fine meals at Picco. Indeed, it is head-and-shoulders above any other non-Asian eatery in Marin. But even we were delightfully surprised with the risotta at our last visit.
One of Picco's specialties is serving a new, fresh batch of risotta every half hour. The composition of the risotta varies daily.
On our last visit, the risotta was amix of rice and sweet corn with some crunchy elements and was divine. we savored every mouthful.

We stopped here for a quick bite and ended up staying longer than expected because it was so pleasant. Great food, service, and make sure to get ice cream!

“All Around Great Experience”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

We joined two other couples at Picco for dinner and had a great experience all the way around. From drinks at the bar while waiting for our table, the server with a fun personality, excellent wine choices, to the scrumptious food. While they have abundantly sized entrees we went with a lot of smaller plates and family style so everyone could taste a number of items. Among our favorites: the sliders with blue cheese were to die for! The avocado bruschetta with light sauce drizzled over was mouth watering. The tuna tartare perfectly prepared. All paired with an excellent pinot noir. And, when all said and done it didn't break the bank! We will definitely be repeat offenders.
