Description: The Tavern at Lark Creek represents the next chapter in the life of the historic, circa 1888 Victorian Murphy House; a Larkspur landmark. Designed to appeal to diners looking for value, fun and great ambiance, The Tavern at Lark Creek seeks to capture the more casual feel diners look for today. High-backed cherry chairs and period oak tables surround a grand Carrera marble-topped table beneath a giant skylight, providing lots of great seating options for parties both large and small in the main dining room. Oak tables fill the cozy bar, which offers artisanal cocktails and wines from our proprietary tap system. The wood oven has been renewed, along with the garden. A dramatic lighted display case in the entryway welcomes diners. Chef Aaron Wright and Culinary Director Adrian Hoffman’s menu focuses on value, while remaining true to farm-to-table sensibilities.

“Always fun”

I love dropping in to the Tavern at Lark Creek. The bar is a cozy place to meet a friend or two and enjoy a good old fashion cocktail. The food is always delicious and the staff professional. Happy they are in the hood.

“Pricey, but worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

The cost is a little high, not anything like what it was before changing names (from Lark Creek Inn). The food is still excellent as is the service. I came with a big group and we had terrific food and service despite the large number of people. We also have an office party here and that was very reasonable for a group of 25 people, in a private room.

“Return visit - A very good meal & well-worth yet another chance!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

I wrote a review for this site on August 7th critical of Tavern at Lark Creek for the food, noise and the service - the entire experience was negative and the review was a culmination several visits where I had been disappointed by each experience.

Within a day of my review’s posting the general manager wrote to personally express his disappointment over our experience while inviting us back to give Tavern at Lark Creek another chance. One must give kudos for such a sincere and prompt response.

We did return as his guest, and it was a much different and far better evening; the food was delicious and service excellent. It was reminiscent of the quality, both food and 4 star service when Bradley Odgen first opened the restaurant as the Lark Creek Inn.

We chose a busy Saturday evening - the restaurant was bustling both in the bar and the main room; nevertheless, the staff was attentive and accommodating offering recommendations and insights over what they had seen/tasted in the kitchen, solicitously inquiring of any food allergies, and making their best effort to make our dinner memorable. It certainly worked.

Appetizers included lamb meatballs, brushetta and macaroni and cheese served in an absolutely smooth-as-silk white cheddar sauce. Each dish offered a different combination of tastes - fresh tomatoes, basil barely dressed and served on crispy toasted bread; the macaroni (breaded) was not heavy as I expected but instead was flakey and light. Caesar salads were split among us - two large enough to make a nice starter for each. Our entrees included a simple grilled salmon, a hearty serving of gulf shrimp dressed with pesto served on fettuccine, and a large steak. The food was excellent - tasty and represented the craft and caring of the chef. Each of us commented on how much better the meal was compared to any prior visit.

The takeaway? The chef and his staff made our evening and especially the meal memorable- it was and has certainly earned another visit.

“Great place for dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

We went with a 6 and 8 yr old, food was served quickly to them and all of what we ordered was delicious. Very unique place with outdoor and indoor dining, has a bit of a feel for the English Pub but is bright and airy. Would look forward to doing again, great location also.

“Still Great After All These Years”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

I have been coming here for "special" meal events since about 1990. While the menu isn't as expansive as it once was, it still offers a nice selection and I have never had a dish that wasn't great. It's a great place for lunch and easy to get into without reservations.

Lark Creek is an elegant but comfortable Victorian mansion converted into a restaurant with both inside and outside seating, depending on weather. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the food and beverages and usually go out of their way to accomodate you.

My latest event was my daughter's birthday and the food and service was perfect. Everyone went home as extremely happy campers. In fact, I want to come back at the end of the month for MY birthday.
