Went to Barona Oaks Steakhouse this past weekend on our trip to San Diego. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the service and of course the excellently prepared meal. Our waiter was always nearby to make sure our wine glasses were never empty. We both ordered the Prime Filet Mignon and Australian Lobster. The Lobster was delicious and the steak was simply one of the best either of us could remember ever having. The atmosphere was very nice with a fireplace ( our table was close) and live piano music.

Please do yourself a favor and visit The Barona Steakhouse on your next visit to the San Diego area....

Barona's steakhouse is absolutely great! Always a great meal, reasonable wine list and great service. Try their "king cut" prime rib. It's a large bone-in serving of the BEST prime rib you will ever have. And its only $25!

I met the piano player who invited me to visit Barona Steakhouse so my husband and I went to dinner there and were surprised by the romantic atmosphere in a dimly lit setting with live piano player. We LOVED every dish we ordered and was so impressed that we took my in-laws there a few weeks later who were visiting us from Los Angeles. This is a hidden spot in a casino which we NEVER go to but the dinner was well worth the walk through the casino. We are very picky people when it comes to good tasting food and Barona Steakhouse was truly a hidden gem for couples looking for a romantic night together.

Barona Oaks Steakhouse is becoming one of San Diego's Best! On our last trip we had five people that ordered everything from the cheese tray to the fish to the filet's and not one compliant in the group. On top of the great food we ordered two great bottles of wine. Barona is a little hard to get to but the Casino and the restaurant have five star service on a three star budget. I strongly suggest trying Barona Oaks steakhouse.

This restaurant is located downstairs, past the entry to the buffet. When we made reservations (recommended), we were asked if it was a special occasion. It was, and every person we came into contact with congratulated us. The dining room is relatively small, but the ambiance begins from the first step into the entry. Dark, calming, soothing interiors with live piano music was a nice difference from the smoky bustle outside. Service was wonderful.

We enjoyed a rib eye and the halibut special. The steak was perfect, and came with a baked potato and a green vegetable and was perfectly cooked to our liking. It had a smoky taste that reminded us of a campfire. The halibut, with a Parmesan crust on a bed of rice topped with spinach with a light tomato sauce surrounding it. It was delicious, but could have been served warmer.

The wine list is very good, offering some local wines and wines by the glass. For dessert. we chose the macarons, whichh were airy little bites of flavor. (Our favorite was the pistachio.)

Prices are higher than other restaurants in the casino, but less than similar restaurants in other parts of San Diego.
