My husband and I stayed overnight in Lake Elsinore on our way to San Diego last March (2009). After the hotel clerk recommended only chain restaurants and more interstate driving, we struck out on our own to find some local flavor. We stumbled upon Rusticana and absolutely loved it! The pasta was delicious and so flavorful it reminded us of our trip to Tuscany a few months prior. The selection of wines was great and the owner steered us correctly to a wine that went well with both entrees. It was a little more money that we normally spend when on the road but definitely worth every penny. A salad, two entrees, one dessert, a bottle of wine, coffee, and tip totaled $90. There weren't many other patrons which we did not understand; hopefully it was an off night and business has picked up by now. Next March when we travel through that way again, I wouldn't be surprised if we plan our route & timing just to have dinner there again.
