We chose this hotel because we wanted to take our family skiing at Snow Valley, 20 minutes away, and because my wife prefers not to ski, so she wanted to be somewhere she could do things while the rest of us were skiing. The hotel fulfilled all our expectations bar one - we found the dining prices very high, and therefore did not eat in, though my wife did try breakfast one morning, but was unimpressed. I think they've missed a trick on the food, because the bar prices were very reasonable, and the service was excellent, from check in to the bell boys. Our room, overlooking the lake, was everything we could hope for, with a small balcony and an excellent bed - its only drawback being that it was a very long walk from the lobby! Some reviews are highly critical of the prices, but they should remember that it costs a great deal to bring everything to a resort 5000 feet above sea level. There is a lovely outdoor pool, with a large terrace. Although the pool was not heated, it was warm enough to swim in, and there is an excellent spa, with a great gym, jacuzzi and steam room, all of which can be used free of charge by guests. The spa treatments did seem a bit pricey. The hotel is also very close to Lake Arrowhead Village, so you can easily walk to the shops and restaurants. We ate dinner at the Arrowhead Bar (Thai and Sushi), and at Woody's Boathouse Grill, bot of which were excellent with huge portions.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, go for a lake view room, and ask not to be too far from the lobby - best views...

First time in Lake Arrowhead, very nice area.
The hotel is nicely located, right by the lake, and it is well appointed with nice and clean accommodations. The gym and the spa are nice and clean as well.
The staff is very friendly - special thanks to Heid (or Heidi?) at the front desk, she is professional, helpful and friendly! In fact, everywhere I went in Lake Arrowhead, I had this nice welcoming vibe, which is great and makes me want to return there (despite the winding road to get there!).
Unfortunately, what brings the overall rating down is the imbalance between what you pay for and what you get. I found the rates to be very high (as it seems, hotels in that area are not reasonably priced whatsoever). For such high rates, it would be nice to have a bathtub in the room. Also, the food at the restaurant should be more tasty. I did not dine in, just drinks + dessert (not an awe moment) and breakfast (very disappointing). Both the breakfast buffet and a la carte food were mediocre, tasted like premade, premixed food, coming straight from the box - which is sub-par for a hotel in that category and at that rate.
I would stay here again if I got promotional rates, but not again for $270/night.

I purchased a travelzoo voucher and took a chance on the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa.

What a beautiful hotel! From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted very nicely by the front desk. The gentlemen, Matt, who took our bags to our rooms was extremely nice and helpful. We also had taken a pet with us on our stay and the hotel was very accommodating and pet friendly.

We had asked for a lake view room and although the view was obstructed a bit by the trees, it was beautiful to wake up to.

The only thing that is so surprising about the hotel was that the restaurant was absurdly sub par for a resort hotel. Even though the restaurant was empty on a Friday night, the hostess sat us at the smallest table which could not hold more than 2 plates. We asked to be moved to a bigger table. The service nor food were very good. No bread served to our table although bread was served at other tables. The waitress did not seem very friendly. Overall the restaurant is a big bruise for such a wonderful hotel.

I would come here again but would stay away from the restaurant.

We had a large group here for a two day meeting. The resort was very attentive to our group and all of our various needs. We had meetings in the ballroom and meals in the room next door. We also had some of our meetings in the room that overlooks the lake- very nice. We had dinner one night in the restaurant in the private room right by the entrance. The room is surrounded in glass with wine bottles from floor to ceiling for privacy. Our room was one of the suites on the first floor. It was the corner room- 156. Very nice if you want some extra breathing room. The spa tub is hysterical how big it is. One of the attendees was in the suite room 330- they had the group up to the room and there was plenty of room for a large group. That room was beautiful with a bedroom, and a dining room and living room- very, very nice for entertaining. I highly recommend this location if you have spouses attending the meetings. The Village is in walking distance and was a nice place for people not attending the meetings to go without having to drive somewhere. The food for the all the meals was wonderful!

Room Tip: Room 303 - is the large suite- awesome!

If you survive the drive to this place you will feel rewarded.

The sky is clear, the water is clean. Unusual for California.

The resort is well appointed, remodeled with new carpets, great beds. We spend a lot of time at Marriotts, and this will not disappoint.

The restaurant has good food and decent prices, which you don't find at all Marriotts. They pour a nice, full glass of wine at reasonable prices.

Go and enjoy yourself. But leave the RV at home, cause you won't make it there!

I took my three daughters there last weekend for a girl's night away. None of us had stayed there before. It was a wonderful, relaxing, and peaceful stay! The rooms had a view of the beautiful lake, and were very comfortable. The only one negative comment is that our room, for some odd reason, did not pick up the Wifi, but my daughter's room next door did. No biggie! The hotel's engineer even came to our room to help to no avail. You can walk from the hotel to the market or the village. During the day we walked a gorgeous natural dirt path around the lake and found many natural surprises along the way! At night we went into the Jacuzzi. In the morning we got our coffee from the little café and sat by the big roaring fire in the main lobby and talked with other guests. It was like being in our own home! The staff were all friendly and helpful. We would definitely go again and I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Try to get a lake view!

As a family we spent three nights at the hotel just before Christmas. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, although there was a minor hiccup over our booking when we arrived.
The hotel is welcoming and set in a lovely location alongside the lake and we were fortunate to have two rooms overlooking the lake through the trees. The rooms we had were well furnished and very comfortable, generally good but there was some noise from the rooms above us.
The facilities at the hotel are good with the spa area, outdoor heated pool and gym.
The hotel restaurant appeared to be a bit expensive but there are some good restaurants around the village square. The village area is just a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel is within easy reach of the Snow Mountain ski resort which had good snow conditions on the lower slopes during our stay

Plenty of places to walk in the area and some beautiful scenery.

Note if you are driving to this area in the winter months you will probably need snow chains.

One little grumble the daily Service charge had been raised from $17 to $20 per room, per night without any notification.
.

Room Tip: Try to get a lake side room, the higher the better.
