“Watched the July Fourth fireworks from the outside Balcony”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Another wonderful all day and late night restaurant in Laguna Beach. French food at reasonable prices. Breakfast to late night dinner or dessert. Food is wonderful. Sit on the balcony and watch the waves roll in, with your great danish and coffee. Good value, and the wait staff is very accomodating.

“Owners are taking "C'est la Vie" a little too literally”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Really disappointing; I'm surprised to see the positive reviews here. The restaurant has the look of a (tired) French bistro, but that's where the continental experience ended. We went for lunch and there was little on the menu to attract me, so I went for a "parisian" open-faced melted-brie and avocado sandwich. The bread was bland italian, not french, and the meal didn't work at all.

The waiter was merely going through the paces. The 1970s ambiance took a further hit when they were playing two competing soundtracks - one an excellent set of French music that I knew, and then another, American, set of songs at the front entrance. The result was cacophony.

The pastries looked good, but we didn't try them. Maybe that's where the magic happens?

“Really good breakfast”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

My wife and i went there for breakfast based on a recommendation by our concierge. I had a veggie omelette which was excellent. At $13+ it was a little pricey. The freshly baked bread was tasty. My wife had a spinach omelette which she said was very good as well.

We ate on the outside patio with views of the ocean. They are doing construction there now but it is still a nice setting.

“A good breakfast”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

When you enter here, you are in the take-out area with a showcase of pastries, quiches, among other things. Continue into the restaurant and head back by the bar and up the stairs. There you will find a nice sunny deck overlooking part of Main Beach. I had the quiche lorraine, a healthy portion and tasty, along with some fried potatoes that were nicely done. A large orange juice, and bottomless Lavazza coffee to go with it. Fresh French bread and jellies were complimentary. The tab for this was just over $20. Service was excellent and unrushed. Menu was varied and offered a number of nice breakfast options. I don't think you will walk away from here unsatisfied. Portions are quite generous. I would repeat here if in town again in the future.
