We went to The Cliff for breakfast. We had not been there before and were confused at first as to where to go and the bartender who we asked was not overly helpful. But, once we found the outdoor deck, it was a wonderful experience. The views were beautiful and we felt far removed from the busy main street. We even had a show that day, as a man had sailed on to shore the day before and there were emergency vehicles on the beach trying to figure out what to do with the boat.

Many previous reviewers wrote about the service issues that they experienced. We had great service, though it may have been a slower morning. Our server was Justin (I think?) and he was great. Very attentive and informative about the area. He floated from table to table talking to everyone, without missing out on the service.

The food itself was good. It is a pretty typical breakfast menu, which was great because that it exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend The Cliff for a relaxed breakfast with an incredible, peaceful view.

My wife and friends went there for breakfast and because of recommendation from other locals. All seating is outside and the views are great. The food on the other hand was good. Near average. The service was good, but waiters seemed hurried most of the time. They just do their job, not very friendly. All of us was were served coffee in mugs that were not completely cleaned. Didn't want to complain. Just wiped them down.

I guess it's alright if you want to go for the experience, just don't expect much from service.

The view of the ocean and the beach is unbeatable from this outdoor restaurant. The view is so good it would even make mediocre food taste good. But you won't get mediocre here, because every meal I have had here was great. If you want an outdoor beachfront location for a nice lunch, then this is the place. One of my absolute favorite lunch locations.

Every time we visit Laguna this is a must-go place for us. The obvious draw is the view, it overlooks the pacific and every table gives you the opportunity to see it and to people-watch on the beach below. During the winter months there are outdoor overhead heaters, and there are always umbrellas for those facing the sun who don't want to eat a meal squinting lol. We usually go for brunch or late afternoon for champagne and snacks. There is always a good assortment of food and we have enjoyed everything from the home made albacore tuna salad sandwich- excellent- to fish tacos- REALLY great- or nachos which are great with drinks. Wrap sandwiches are like most others except better seasoned IMO. Everything served at this restaurant has overall higher quality, fresher, ingredients than the average restaurant.
If you go here during a weekend brunch there will be a significant line but overall the wait has never been horrendous for us and the experience is worth the wait. We have always had great service, ALWAYS friendly servers, and will go the extra mile to make your experience comfortable and memorable. When it is crowded it may take longer for your meal to arrive but the server has always kept us informed as far as where things stand.
What else, there is great touristy shopping all around the area. There is a parking lot right there, yes it gets crowded but again the turnover time is fast. I recommend going there in the early afternoon, do some shopping or a round of golf at nearby Aliso Creek, and then come to the restaurant for a split of champagne and a sammie or snack or dinner if u are up for it, and watch the sunset.
