“Great Location, Boutique feel.”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Can't beat the location right across from Treasure Island Beach. Also has a grocery store within walking distance. Stayed here a few times around $80. I know its a travelodge but it does have a boutique feel to it. Pool is decent and the landscaping is above average. Rooms were surprisingly quaint and has beach cottage decor. Overall I would stay here when in the Laguna Beach area. Negatives are that it is located towards the end of town but a short ride to everything.

We do strive to offer that "boutique" experience, even though we are a Travelodge branded hotel. Thank you for mentioning that, it means a lot!

We suggest you come back this summer, the Laguna Beach Trolley (it's free!) stops right in front of the hotel and takes you pretty much anywhere in Laguna Beach you want to go! Every 20 minutes! You never have to get in your car over summer!

I wasn't expecting anything fancy but after getting off a plane and driving there, my colleague and I were met on the afternoon of Monday, March 25th by a woman who wouldn't even look at us and acted like we were interrupting her. She grumbled, "do you have an i.d. and credit credit card?" and then as we handed it to her, she just stuck her arm out and barely glanced our way. Her entire demeanor was rude and unhelpful. The rooms were what you would expect from a travelodge, the beds were fine, everything looks pretty dated. The bathrooms were entirely maroon tile and the fixtures were from the 70s but everything worked. You can walk to the beach across the street and the drugstore down the street. I must add that in the morning we were greeted with a smile by another young lady who was quite friendly.

We stayed here 3/23/13 to 3/25/13 in a king bedroom on the second floor with a direct view of the ocean across the street. Continental breakfast consisted of bagels, cereal, danishes, orange juice, milk coffee and more, just enough to hit the spot and get our day started. They had complimentary newspapers including the L.A. Times and best of all--free Wi-Fi! The Wi-Fi was easy to log onto and I never once had a problem with speed or service. I rated 4 stars because of the amenities that come with the reservation however there are some downfalls which consist of the furnishings being very outdated, tube tv no flat panel, the bathroom was a tight squeeze and the shower and showerhead were borederline awful. Comfort of the bed was not great either but the pillows were awesome, not flat but fluffy. They provided lots of bath towels and had complimentary toiletries. NO bedbugs here! This motel shares a parking lot with Albertson's, CVS and a few little restaurants, all within a very short walking distance. There is a Starbucks in the Albertson's store. There is a Sushi restaurant and Asian/Fusion restaurant in the same shopping center, we avoided them because they were a bit pricey. Instead we shopped at Albertson's and utilized the microwave and mini fridge in our room (great amenities!). Aliso Beach is right down the street and we absolutely loved that beach mainly because the parking is cheap ($1.00) per hour and you don't have to walk far to get from the parking lot to the sand. The surf was very rough there, it's definitely not a beach to swim at but very lovely to sit back in your beach chair and just CHILL watching the waves crash (wear a hat, lots of seagulls!) Overall for the price we paid at the Travelodge LB, I feel we came out ahead because other "value" lodgings in the area are probably at the least about $50 more per night with less amenities. We really enjoyed our time at the Travelodge LB and will stay here in the future.

We are happy that you enjoyed our hotel and Laguna Beach!!
Aliso State Beach is sometimes a bit short on the way the waves break - but this particular type of break makes it an amazing place for skimboarding! Skimboarding is kind of a local creation, but a worldwide phenomena - in August Aliso State Beach is home to the Victoria Skimboarding World Championship! Goff cove, directly across the street from the hotel is a much calmer place for enjoying the water.
Hope to see you again soon!

Good stop-off to walk Laguna Beach and explore the tide pools. Great value for a retro hotel with remodeled breakfast area and overall clean, quiet, inviting atmosphere. Although it was too cold to swim when we visited, the pool area looked well-maintained (and the pool is large for a smaller hotel).
