I was visiting from out of town and had no plans for dinner so
I looked this place up. When I arrived I was told that this location had two restaurants: The Deck and the Driftwood Kitchen. The Deck was packed with an hour wait so walked 10 ft. to the right and decided to check out Driftwood. First glance, Driftwood is more upscale while the Deck is more casual in nature, my own opinion. Both have amazing outside dining just above the waves of the Pacific. I ate at the bar and my server was Zack. Super personable, great service, and his recommendations were spot on! He made you instantly comfortable. I went with the Halibut for my entree (note: the Chef, Rainer Schwarz cooks and has designed the meals for both restaurants). The Halibut was cooked perfectly and FRESH and I thought the accompanying sauces, vegetables, etc. were just right. They specialize in seafood and beef but have a variety of other items to choose from. Not only is this place hidden (definitely off the main drag ) it is also a real gem) by the way the meals are also priced like that, not inexpensive). Not being local I am not sure what it was before but I would try it again. Lastly, they have a big room upstairs for private parties which I could see entertaining customers in the future. For being open (as a new concept and I believe name) they did a nice job and I think will only get better!
