We were surprised at the new look of the Playhouse. We had not renewed our season tickets for a few years but when we experienced the New Theater we will again be supporters. Act Three (the current olay) was a single act comedy and very enjoyable especially with the new seats.
I have been to the Laguna Playhouse a few times over the years. The last two times were to see Val Kilmer in his one-man show on Mark Twain and last night to see the great humorist, David Steinberg. I mention these two shows because this stage and theater size are well suited to monologue performances. I am not sure how big the venue is but it can be more than a few hundred. It is a very intimate space. It's a drive for us but every once in a while it is worth the trip.
This little theater is cozy and gracious...never a bad seat in the house. Shows are top notch and often feature well known actors. Have been coming here for years and always enjoy it. Adjacent to the art festivals and a short walk to the beach. Go early and have dinner or lunch at any of the nearby restaurants. Refreshments served at the playhouse. They can accommodate mobility disabilities.
Nice, small, quaint neighborhood theatre with a great offering throughout the year. My first visit but I would definitely go back. Allow time to get there. The canyon drive into this area on the weekend is very busy and slow. You can park right across the street and there are many food venues to walk to before or after a show. Prices for the shows are reasonable. Good variety. A definite place you should try.
At intermission there were drinks for sale. Plenty of bathrooms. Small, intimate theatre experience.
Went to see Blues Brothers Review here. Small, quaint theater so NO bad seats in the house and their tickets are very reasonably priced at $45.00. Excellent show.
When we are visiting Laguna Beach, we always check to see what is playing and make reservations. It is a lovely theatre and within walking distance of Laguna's downtown.
