“Out of this world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

We can't say enough about our experience at K'ya. We stayed as hotel guests in La Casa del Camino and K'ya honored us by giving us a reservation right at 6:30pm. We LOVED it. They serve everything as single plates (tapas restaurant style) and the selection is fantastic. We enjoyed bacon-wrapped dates with blue cheese, truffle fries, lamb, filet mignon, and lobster mac&cheese. We also had red wine sangria (awesome!!) and a beer. We had 5 plates total for 2 people and didn't leave hungry. Everything is very reasonably priced (between $7 and $15 per plate). I wish we lived closer so that we could frequent this restaurant more often!

“Best menu in Laguna”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

A broad menu of small plate dishes which means you can try a variety of meals and still be left with loads to try on another visit.
Value for money amazing.

“K'ya has been discovered -- But Still Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

Our little Laguna Local secret of beginning the evening with a sundowner on the roof deck and then heading downstairs for a delicious dinner at K'ya has been discovered! Wow, very busy and crowded now that it is summer time, even on weeknights!

But go anyway -- their small plate menu continues to be a huge hit, you can dine quite economically. On the other hand, their wine list is good and so you can splurge! Be ready for a full restaurant and a long wait if you don't make reservations -- but go and enjoy our little favorite local gem!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014

Stayed here last week and was totally blown away at the restaurant and the lounge on the roof with ocean views. Very affordable, totally young , great crowd, food was excellent and service couldn't be better. Thank you Lawrence!

“Value coming down.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2014

I guess it was inevitable that eventually things would change at this restaurant, it happens with all of them it seems. Previously I have given this place high marks for value, service, and ambiance. It was my choice to go to K’ya for my birthday dinner. The view from the rooftop bar at sunset is special. I was looking forward to my three favorite dishes, heirloom baby tomatoes-roasted beets-walnuts on baby greens salad, bacon wrapped scallops with creamed corn fingerling potatoes and lobster risotto with truffles.
The bacon wrapped scallops were only half the size as they used to be and there were more potato's in the dish. There was very little lobster in the lobster risotto and I don’t remember seeing any flecks of truffle that is usually quite visible. I asked the waiter about both of these discrepancies and he said the price of food had gone up therefore they had started cutting back on portion size. Wrong answer!
As expected the place is very noisy and having a conversation with your table mates is impossible. Something needs to be done with the acoustics! If I go back it will only be to the rooftop bar with friends or relatives for the sunset views.
