Description: K'ya Bistro Bar is located in the historic, coastal La Casa del Camino hotel in the heart of Laguna Beach. With small plates and an emphasis on sharing, K'ya Bistro Bar offers a diverse menu with flavors from the Mediterranean and a local bistro appeal. This bustling bistro is a stone's throw from the beach and reflects a lively San Francisco-esque atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a private table, or have a drink by the fireplace before or after dinner in the comfortable lobby lounge featuring live entertainment.

The entrance to the restaurant started our visit off on the right foot- with a fire in the stone fireplace and a musician playing acoustic guitar. The restaurant itself is pretty small with tiny cramped tables and a high volume level. If you are looking for a quite intimate setting, this is not it on a Friday night. If you are looking for a vibrant setting to go out with friends, make reservations and this is it. The star of the evening was the food. We ordered 6 different dishes which was too much food for the 2 of us even though they are tapas but everything sounded so interesting we had to try it. Every dish was more amazing than the one before. The flavors were extraordinary, it really blew us away. We returned the next day for more! The prices were reasonable and expected. The only thing not recommended are the mixed drinks- they were very weak.

tapas sizes were generous; food taste and variety was great-excellent at the kya restaurant. service was also excellent. the decor was typical. my only complaint was that tables were uncomfortably close and the volume was way too loud precluding lengthy conversation.

K'ya Bistro catered the food for our wedding rehearsal dinner on their Rooftop Lounge. Food was fantastic. How they serve 42 people quickly and maintain the great quality is beyond me. They did a fantastic job. Others since have told me that K'ya is very well known locally as a great restaurant. I will be going back soon!

Because there were 7 of us, we asked our server (Kingsley) to order for us and he 'kept it coming' and each dish he delivered was not only a surprise but also fabulous!
Little plates of simply delicious food continually arrived and ultimately we'd all 'eaten our fill' and we were very content. The bill was a nice surprise too - including wine, drinks and tip, we paid only $35 a head - terrific value.
This place is busy and buzzing so book in advance to avoid disappointment and be sure to start the evening with a cocktail on the rooftop bar overlooking the ocean (if possible, go in time to watch the sun go down - amazing!).
Kingsley deserves recognition for making our evening memorable!!
