I was very hopeful going into the evening and was not disappointed. It is worth the time to reserve your tickets in advance so you can get a good seat. We were lucky enough to have one of the "displays" just to the side of us and seriously could not tell that the bronze statues were actually humans in makeup. It is a spectacular production and not to be missed. Even when they show you how the portraits are created on the stage, you can't believe your eyes! It is that amazing!! No photo taking is allowed. One thing we didn't know is that there is an art show and sale in the courtyard before the Pageant begins. (included with your ticket) There was live music and many art displays and artists on display. Very cool to see. One of our favorites was an art piece made out of 'grabber' screws. Awesome! As for parking, we parked near the Whole Foods store at a parking meter and saved about $6 in parking lot fees. It is not too far to walk from there. Also, there are many free shuttles if you choose to use them.Parking across the street from the venue was $10

We knew nothing about this pageant when we arrived in Laguna Beach, but were very lucky to get tickets for that same evening. We did have to sit apart. This performance has been going on for 80 years and is manned by volunteers. On stage, paintings by the masters are presented by real people as the people in the painting with the rest of the scenery of the painting. The people hold their poses for 90 seconds... I never saw anyone move- amazing. The performances have narration and accompanying music to make it a real production. Very well done.

A magnificent production of Old Masters as well as more modern artworks and sculpture. Representations are done with real people. The narration and orchestral performance are tops!

If you come to Laguna Beach, CA anytime between late June and Labor Day, it is an absolute "must" to visit this show. This is unlike any show that you will ever see. In the Pageant, live people actually become pictures of art. If you sit up close, you will see the actors don't breathe for a period of time. They don't flinch and they don't sneeze or cough. This amazing performance has been running for 80 years and every year they have a new theme. The 2013 theme was movies and how fine art relates to the movies or also, how the movies relate to fine arts. There is a narration and then the scene comes on stage framed in a giant picture frame. The last recreation of every show is always the DaVinci's "Last Supper." In between there were scenes from 14th, 15th, 18th and 20th century paintings. This year, one outstanding scene was the recreation of Erte's work. There were beautiful costumes, beautiful actor statues and much more to enjoy. This is honestly a not to be missed experience. You will see many types of shows, but none like this. It is a "Don't Miss!"
