For the record, I only write about very good or great food. With that said when things don't relate to " food," my objective is that ownership reads this and makes adjustments. On more than one visit I've experienced a haughty, Mexico City attitude from the bar tender and a person who said she was the manager. Last night I ran into a local friend who experienced a similar situation, which prompted this latent review.
Now for the good stuff, the food and Margaritas are awesome !
The Chile Verde is tender, tasty and to die for and the bean dip is uniquely and gastronomically satisfying.
While they have a nice tv and atmosphere, it's the worst place in town to watch a sporting event, and don't even think to ask to change the channel as the manager would rather allow skating over a great football or baseball game (or an out of town team as opposed to a local team.)
Yes locals go here, I was one of them. They are now so popular it's a wait to get in on any day or evening. The bar doesn't move and they allow empty seat holding and the tv is too low to watch from tables.
With better staff this place could be one of the best in Laguna Beach.
