What a nice surprise to find a new place with great food and a great vibe on the bottom floor of a Holiday Inn. I had read many complimentary posts on this new restaurant in Laguna. The menu is very creative and has something for everyone. Everyone in or party of five enjoyed their entree as well as the appetizers that were shared. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The place really comes to life at night when the lights come on, and the video in the bar starts. The video definitely adds a nice touch. It stayed busy and turned over the entire two hours we were there.

I'd highly recommend checking it out. Don't miss the Lavander Ginger Martini!

Four of us went here on a Sunday evening based on a review in the local paper.

The service was excellent and the staff is clearly well-trained and prepared. The restaurant is nicely decorated as befits Laguna Beach. I'll mention there was a somewhat bizaree and risque black and white film being projected on the bar wall - not sure I'd really recommend taking kids here with that playing. But if that's your taste it's nothing terrible.

The wine list isn't large, but covers the spectrum of tastes and price reasonably well.

Their signature dish seems to be the venison with peaches and berries, and it is indeed excellent and delicious.

The problem was with the other dishes. Our fried calamari appetizer was soggy, not crisp, and weirdly seasoned with jalapeno that masked the delicate flavor of the calamari? The lobster limoncello I ordered had undercooked, doughy pasta and overcooked lobster and unbalanced seasoning. So a dish that sounded absolutely wonderful on the menu was anything but.

In general, with the very notable exception of the venison entree, the dishes had the feeling of rushed-out-too-fast bar quality food.

I am certain this restaurant is capable of much better than this. So right now I'll chalk this up to NRS ('new restaurant syndrome'). I'd suggest waiting a few months until they've had time to settle in and get consistency and quality under better control.
