Heisler Park is a beautiful park located right downtown in Laguna Beach. The walkway has beautiful scenic views of the Pacific as well as having an abundance of beautiful landscape plants and flowers. A perfect place for a short walk, run, picnic or just enjoying the beautiful California coast. One of my favorite places to go just to relax and enjoy the view.

“Well Planned City Park”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

We chose to visit Heisler Park after viewing a list of beaches and their features on a map. The beach has a large amount of meter parking at $2.00 per hour and has paved pathways. There is also a cement stairway to the beach area with two outdoor water showers.

The beach itself is clean and has a lot of seaweed and sea grapes. We saw two wedding parties on the Saturday afternoon we were there arrive to take pictures with the ocean as the backdrop. In one group, two guests that were in their late 70s collapsed while on the beach, and one had to be taken away by ambulance. Perhaps taking the stairs then being in the heat was too much for them. Thank goodness both will be OK.

There were also two artists at work painting landscapes and seascapes. It is wonderful to see professionals inspired by the scenery as we are.

There are two hotels that are next to the beach as well as the Las Brisas Restaurant. Heisler Park is a great place to enjoy the beach and to have fun.

“Beautiful park and beach.”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

This park is just down the road from Main Beach. It is located on a bluff, with lots of grass, benches, and picnic areas. It feels very safe and offers amazing views of the ocean and surrounding hills. It is a good choice on busy weekends, when Main Beach is just nuts. Park along Coast Hwy, near Myrtle Ave. and walk a short way to the Park. You can take the walkway down to the beach and rent paddle boards and enjoy a less crowded beach experience.

“Fantastic Landscapes and Seascapes”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

This has to be one of the more amazing parks by any ocean. It has a unique arrangement of trees and shrubbery coupled with a walking/running trail along a cliff that runs along the coastline and that offers some spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the city of Laguna Beach and its hills. On several occasions, there are steps leading down to the beach so you're never far off from the water either.

This is also a very family-friendly park. Dog-walking is permitted, however, and is very prevalent. Parking is metered (at a nominal $2 per hour) and not easy to find, so be prepared to walk. Yet, the trail alone is well, well worth taking a trip here for.
