This place is a must. Lots of history and a great restaurant! Tide pools to explore also. You park across the street and go through a tunnel. I believe there is another way if you don't like tunnels.
This was a great beach to check out for a couple of hours. You can check out more if you get in your car and move to another parking area. You could spend a whole day or a couple hours. Beware of seagulls they will go right in your bags and take food but it makes for a fun video when your children chase them down the beach with the food bag in tow.

You must visit and hike the area as it is pure tranquility and the best place to forget the rest of the world and just take in peace and pure nature.
My daughter and I took a day trip to visit this local state park, complete with breathtaking views of the ocean, bike paths, powder-sand beaches alongside rocky cliffs. A wooden stair case made of railway ties takes you down to the beach on 1 side. The Historic section is accessible and a shuttle ferries visitors to the parking lot for a nominal fee. All in all, well worth the admission price ($15) and a fun beach outing.
