“Lovely!”
Review of Table Rock Beach

Table Rock Beach
Reviewed July 11, 2011

Had read the Tripadvisor reviews and decided to give Table Rock a try - we were not disappointed! The beach itself is lovely and a nice break from the crowds of Main Beach in Laguna. Definitely go early, though, as people did start to arrive as we were leaving. We braved the waves just to cool down, but it's definitely treacherous there and we were glad that a lifeguard was on duty. Take note - no bathroom facilities.

This is a great beach. I used to bring my kids here when they were younger and they would spend the whole day there. Some of favorite family photos are from this beach. To me, this beach is classic Laguna Beach style.

Ok, so you're looking for a secret cove public beach in South Laguna, huh? I'll tell you the low-down for Table Rock Beach, located off tiny Table Rock Road, near Eagle Rock Street. Ideally, go to the Coyote Cafe and eat lunch, while seated outside in the back patio, where you can spy the royal blue ocean under a sunny sky, Leave your car parked in the tiny parking lot (they really don't care) and walk up PCH towards Main Beach. Turn left on Table Rock Road; decend down 200 steps and you will have arrived!
Table Rock Beach is for admiring only, unless you are a life guard, don't go swimming in the water. A young man drowned last summer; he dove off the table rock itself, (not recommended) and he drowned. Swimmers pulled his body out the next day, and his family still grieves. It is rumoured that you can see the ghost of this poor man, he comes out at dusk trying to dive off of the rock, (to your right as you face the ocean.) He smiles and will say something inspanish, but since I don't speak alot of spanish, I don't know what he was trying to tell my friend. It was sort of creepy, but other than that, enjoy the peaceful solitude and beauty of this beach which happens to be the number one best kept secret in all of Laguna Beach.
P.S.
Please don't tell anybody that I told you about this place. It will rock your world!

Love this spot, the 150+ steps one way are worth every step, the view is amazing, this is a photographers dream, they have weddings here and the local portrait photographers are here in droves, the waves are amazing, the sunset the best around
