Description: The Park Bistro & Bar showcases only the freshest, local and organically grown produce as well as naturally raised meats and line-caught fish. Executive Chef Adam Carpenter has created an approachable, yet inventive menu, presenting a French twist on American fare. With a wholesome and earthy quality, many dishes elevate “comfort” food. Natural light from the romantic inner fountain courtyard, intimate alcoves, a large communal table and versatile private dining spaces. Rustic stone floors, natural wood tables, leather seating and an original art program create a warm and inviting, yet grand and inspiring, space that will create the most memorable dining experience in Lafayette. The Park Bar overlooks the recently renovated covered patio with an adjacent outdoor terrace featuring two fire pits offering both dining and casual lounge seating year round. The Park Bar offers guests traditional bar fare, aselection of artisanal beers and wines by the glass, and classic cocktails.

The Former Duck Club's cozy bar and comfortable main diningroom with linen table cloths and carpeted floors are gone. The new" Bistro" lacks any specialness and looks like one hundred other minimalist places with wood floors (noisy) a few pieces of art, bare table tops (no more linen) and an uninspiring menu. The bar is noisy and the overstuffed wing chairs and tables have been replaced with bar stool height tables. Carpeting in the bar is gone too which makes the bar noisy.
The Bistro appetizer size salad for $5 was pretty good. The pork loin was slightly dry and not especially flavorful. It was served with a generous amount of fresh green beans and tasty potatos. Have to ask twice for a more generous helping of the ginger applesauce, which the waiter forgot to bring with the order, a second 2 oz helping was delivered in a tiny olive dish.
The trio of sorbets was a generous portion, easily splitable for two people, and very flavorable.
The overall experience was lackluster and I think I will choose other restaurants in Lafayette before going back to the Lafayette Park Hotel.

This restaurant was always good, but it is now trending towards great. A great renovation resulted in a very bright room with large alcoves facing the courtyard/patio. These alcoves have comfortable bench seats that are next to the large windows. The atmosphere is really nice. Thus far, we have been here for Sunday Brunch, only. But we will return soon. The brunch was a large buffet, but with individual entrees. The three of us had the Strawberry French Bread, The Traditional Eggs Benedict, and the California Eggs Benedict. All were excellent, but the French bread was superb. Our server, Erika, was professional, friendly, and accommodating. The bottomless mimosas and champagne were continuously filled. The buffet included pastries, desserts, salads, cheese and charcuterie, fresh fruit, seafood appetizers, etc, and all were good. Another bonus is the free parking in the hotel garage or the no-cost (but please tip) valet service.
