“Something for everyone...”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

The joy about walking around this 2.7 mile moderate "trail" is all that you see...people walking their dogs, wonderful older people getting out there and walking and having a wonderful time...the birdlife is pretty great and the variety of scenic views from top to bottom are wonderful. The parking is metered, unless you have a pass ($120 a year or $60 if you're a senior) There is boating - paddle and fishing boats for rent. You and put your kayak in there with a mandatory inspection FIRST. Lots of places to picnic...be alone with nature. It doesn't get ANY better than this in the East Bay between Lafayette and Pleasanton for sure!

“Great resource but needs some attention”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

I love the Lafayette Reservoir, and have an annual pass. It has a 2.7 mile paved trail, and a 4.5 mile rim trail that is more challenging but fun and less crowded. The park itself needs some updating, many of the bathrooms along the trail are closed, and some of the benches on the docks are broken and need to be repaired.

“A great day trip or picnic spot”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

We lived in Lafayette for years, and came here to 'walk the reservoir' very often. It is a couple of miles and has some up and down hills so you get a great walk in. Plus the scenery is gorgeous! Ducks swimming in the water, clouds and blue skies above. This is a favorite spot for locals to come and walk with friends, as well as the fitness fanatics who run along with trails. If you love the outdoors, you will like this spot. Great for a picnic as well.

“Beauty and Exercise!”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

Just purchased an annual pass to Lafayette Reservoir again, after a hiatus of about 20 years! Rediscovered the beauty of this 2.7mile paved walk. There are benches to rest on and picnic tables near the water's edge to relax at. The area has a great playground for children and one for toddlers. Great picnic areas. There are paddle boats and rowboats for rent. Security is continually surveying the area~ lots of joggers and walkers and leashed dogs on the trail. Bring your quarters for the meters that need to be fed during open park hours or pay the $6 daily parking fee. Annual passes are available for purchase.
