“Great food”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

After reading some of the reviews about this place we decided to give it a go. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow though and we had to wait 20 minutes for our second round of drinks. I would come here again, some of the best food in Lafayette.

“Best Food in the East Bay”
Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

This is our favorite restaurant in the East Bay. It's all about the food which is absolutely superb!!!
Fresh ingredients, delicate tastes and wise choices for putting different foods together. This place is all about high quality food; no flash; yet their presentations are very impressive.
On the advice of the waitress we each had a ginger spritzer which was very refreshing before lunch. Most unusual. Try their mushroom soup made without any cream or milk or flour . The thick was of the soup comes from puréed vegetables such as carrots, leeks etc. but the mushroom flavor dominates. Marvelous!
My friend and I each had a salad and were intrigued by the multiple ingredients and delicate flavors of the dressing. Mine seemed to be a lemon vinegarette maybe with tarragon or another herb.
The birthday lemon curd dessert was beautiful to look at and very tasty.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Came here with high expectations given prior reviews here and on other web-sites, I was not disappointed. The food quality is first-rate. The menu choices are innovative and executed perfectly. Wait-staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Every dish from appetizer to dessert was excellent. Very refreshing to have a decent restaurant that is not in San Francisco along with all of their added on taxes, bridge tolls and night-time parking meter crap.

“Artisan Bistro is a restaurant meant to attract those who truly want to experience food.”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

What an amazing place. Artisan Bistro is not just about the (perfect) food, but the overall experience from the moment you walk in.

The staff is incredible. When you are seated, you are encouraged to stay a while and truly experience the food and drinks. Joe was our server and we were constantly being checked checked on from afar and we were never left thinking "where is our waiter?" Water was immediately refilled, plates were promptly removed and settings werequickly added in prep for the next course.

The ambiance is intimate and cozy. The tables are placed in such a way where customers feel like they have a mini oasis all to themselves.

I highly recommend making an evening of attending this fine restaurant.

From the moment you enter, you feel like you've come home to a place that you've been going to for years. The food is wonderful, the service is attentive without being intrusive, and the location makes it easy to get to.
The menu changes daily with entrees that make you want to try everything. Sunday brunch is not to be missed!
