“Don't expect management to care”
Reviewed June 27, 2008

The separate condo style suites are really nice, but don't expect to get any help if you need it. When I booked the room, I received an email saying we can have things in place ahead of time if you would like. I asked for extra towels, when we got there we did not have any. I asked the maid who was in the next room for some, we were still calling 8 hours later at midnight for towels, pillows and blankets. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was informed there was no one there. I spoke with the manager the next day, and emailed my review and not one person has said sorry. It was a nice hotel, but no customer service for the kind of money we paid.

We needed a place to stay for the Coachella Festival. Almost all the hotels were booked or way over priced. Although we paid $300 for our one night stay we were glad we stayed here.

First of all...Embassy Suites are known for their extensive cook to order breakfasts and 2 room rooms. Ours was located just far enough from the elevator so as not to be disturbed by it, yet close enough to not have to trek through the entire hotel. A nice view of the desert and villas on the outside and a view of the bar & center of the hotel from the inside.

We were greeted promptly and in a courteous manner. Although we missed the manager's reception, the hotel does offer a complimentary cocktail hour in the evening.

The Bell Hop was prompt and courteous.

We left for the festival and returned after midnight. There was someone at the front desk, which is nice had we needed something.

We had a 1 bedroom and living area which included a small refrigerator, sink and microwave. The bathroom was a nice size and clean. Beds were comfortable. There was a tv in the living room and in the bedroom along with a desk, night stands and a dining table in the living room.

I woke up early and made my way down to breakfast. The omelet cook was amazingly friendly. Coffee was fresh and the breakfast selection was great!

As I walked around the property I checked out the huge gym available and beautiful swimming pool outside. There is a spa on premise and their prices seem quite reasonable.

The business center offers free internet service and a quaint library has games, books and a nice sitting area for your enjoyment.

Surrounding the hotel itself, this property offers privately owned condo's which are rented out to Embassy Suites. This is a great alternative for longer stays. They have washer/ dryer, dishwasher and full kitchen. Also they share a private pool, seperate from the hotel, with about 6 other villas. All the hotel ammenties are included in these villas, including the pool, breakfast and gym.

All I can say is wow! When looking at Embassy Suites hotels, always put into consideration the cost of breakfast. There's is amazing and it's included in the price of your room.

Recently stayed for 5 nights at the Embassy Suites La Quinta. I was in town for a wedding in Indian Wells. The hotel is very new and conveniently located. Like all Embassy Suites, the room was large and had a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. Room was clean and modern and had a balcony with a view of the mountains.

There's a Ralphs supermarket nearby as well as a Starbucks. The free breakfast had a lot of variety as well as made-to-order omelettes. Unfortunately, I never made it to the manager's reception, the pool, or the spa.

My one complaint is that the tv remotes were REALLY slow. Not a big deal.

I have stayed at 2 Embassy Suites in the area, and this is by far the best one. Here are the pros and cons (I can think of only one)

PROS

Fantastic Customer Service

Great Breakfast, much more then the other Embassy Suites in the area

FREE WIRELESS INTERNET (The other one charges)

Great Pool and workout area

Very beautiful hotel

Comfortable bed, and very nice rooms

CON

A little out of the way. If you are going to spend time on the 111, it is a little ways off of it. However, this completely worth it.

My business will now continue to stay at this hotel, and we are very excited to continue giving them our business. If anyone is going to this area for any reason, stay here if you can.

We stayed here on a golf trip (Trilogy- La Quinta) and were very happy. It was perfect for a golf trip and included a separate bedroom. The countertops were granite and the bathroom was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Positives:
Made-to-order breakfast included every day
Separate bedroom with tv
Living room with tv, couch, table & chair
Small fridge & microwave
Nice fixtures
Great location--across the street from Old Town

Negatives:
None I can think of

Hogsbreath restaurant is across the street in Old Town along with a pizza place which was pretty good.

stayed here as part of honeymoon.
this hotel is very clean, the rooms are very spacious with a seperate lounge and bedroom.
The hotel has a main pool area, and then it has 4 little pools around the main building as well with whirlpools which was lovely to relax in and soak up the sun.
the complimentary breakfast each morning is really super, you can have an omelette made for you, plus there are other things to eat as well, and also there is a nightly managers reception with free drinks and snacks.

La Quinta is a good 40 mins drive from Palm Springs which was a bit further away than we realised however this didnt spoil things for us.

there is also a supermarket near the hotel where you can stock up as there is a fridge in your suite which is very handy!

all in all, a very good experience and i would definatley stay here and at other embasssy suites again.

  • Liked — Excellent facilities and good value for money, very clean hotel
  • Disliked — Distance from central palm springs, but isnt a problem really if you have a car

We were pleased when we pulled up to this new property, as it was beautiful, new-looking, and "resorty". Not so pleased when we checked in with a sarcastic woman who worked at the reception desk - at least it was quick. The room was great - granite countertops in the bathroom and bar, with nice microwave and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit too thick for my taste. We had a nice view of the mountains and the room was nice and quiet. You could not hear noises from the hotel courtyard even though there were lots of people making lots of noise during breakfast. The free breakfast was very generous with a yummy omelet station and all sorts of hot and cold options. We didn't mind that it did get quite busy at breakfast especially right before they stop serving - it's to be expected.

My biggest problems were the location and the pool. We booked the room on hotwire and wanted a room near Palm Springs. This hotel was in one of the "zones" around Palm Springs but it turned out to be a 40 min freeway drive there. This was obviously not the hotel's fault, as we should have better researched the location, but it makes the hotel not a great choice for those who want to head to Palm Springs every day as we wanted to. The pool was not nearly as massive as the ES website would have you believe. It was too small for all the people that got there by 10 in the morning (yes, there were no chairs left at all by that time when we went after breakfast). As there were lots of families staying at this hotel the pool was filled with squealing children, and not as relaxing as I hoped it would be. Cleaning service was prompt (they went in when we were at breakfast) but not so thorough (didn't refill toilet paper or toiletries, and we found a leaflet under the bed for a seminar held over a month earlier).

Even though this location was far from Palm Springs, dining was not a problem. Less than 10 minutes away were dozens of great restaurants, but when we didn't even want to drive that far we walked across the street to Old Town and had a couple nice meals at Hog's Breath and Desert Sage.

Overall, considering the price of $103 on hotwire, a good value, but really would have liked the pool to be larger and quieter.
