We are locals in the desert and we enjoy this place a lot, great ambiance. The bartender, Jason, is the best . He makes us feel welcome every time we go there, he knows exactly what drinks we like and don't even ask us anymore. So to be a big resort the bar feels as a local place is great. Even if you are not staying at this resort, please try this place is worth it.

Okay, we hadn't been sitting ten second when the waiter showed up and though he was a Wisconsin and Big Ten football fan, we liked him anyway. He had opinions about the menu and shared them. Then five seconds after he walked away, we looked up and the sommelier was standing there. She was equally good and not a Big Ten football fan. Even better. We enjoyed two bottles of 2009 Penner and Ash Pinot Noir. Great wine.
From there, Pacific Oysters with a papaya, ginger, kalfir lime granita topping. Outstanding! Could have made a dinner of a them. We ordered some sides to go with our New York Strip steaks prepared perfectly. Sea salt fries were perfect. The only thing i would have done differently was not add the the blue cheese and bacon crust to the steak. It was good but a little overpowering.
The place is great. Can't miss in the La Quinta.

This is my kind of restaurant. All the food is super fresh, organic and mostly local, but more importantly, beautifully prepared.

I ate alone and started with a baby beet salad that came with pointed leaf arugula and nut crusted chèvre. It was perfect. I then had the porcini encrusted black angus tenderloin which was fantastic. It had the buttery texture that one would expect from commercially raised grain fed beef but with the wonderful flavor that only grass fed beef has. It was proof positive that with properly raised beef, there is no reason to eat grain raised beef for any reason, not just the health benefits that many of us know about.

The service was grew--attentive without being overbearing. The room is absolutely beautiful. I will come back every time I am down in the desert.

This is a wonderful facility next to the registration area at The Spa at La Quinta. The prices are a bit much for what you get however.

Went to Morgans with a very large group, though we didn't have a private room. Spread out over 3 large tables, the service kept up and we didn't have to wait for others to finish at the end of the night. La Quinta provides a beautiful setting for Morgan's, and the interior is classic and stylish Mexi-Cali. Wine selection was terrific. Appetizers were great, particularly the Ahi Tuna tartare and the Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese salad. Dinner rolls were extremely well seasoned, soft and managed somehow to stay warm throughout dinner! No one was disappointed by the classic steak and fish entrees. We ordered a side of fries for each table thanks to their reputation. They lived up to the billing. Crisp but not greasy with a sea salt based seasoning I think. Dessert was tempting, but after wine, appetizers, entrees, bread rolls and french fries, we were done. I highly recommend Morgan's for a romantic dinner, a special family occasion or a large group. It's a lovely, authentic restaurant with exceptional service and cuisine.
