I love the place . I love outdoors and the view. Little bit more green will help to boost my golfing spirits...

Just amazing the condition this course was in. The greens and fairways were slower but could have been the early morning round and recent watering. I'd give a slight edge to the Norman course over the Nicklaus - both different styles though.

Fairways & green surronds quite lush. Greens in excellent condition although quite contoured. pace of play for a resort excellent. Quite challenging from the back tees.

Played the Norman Course at PGA West just before Christmas and had a very enjoyable experience. Like the other PGA West courses and Mountain/Dunes at La Quinta, this course also winds through the housing development with properties usually on both sides of the fairway- not ideal but typical for a resort course. On the other hand, the Norman course is more desert style/ target golf than the others. Instead of rough on either side of the fairways you have desert. One might think this makes it play difficult however the desert is hard sand/dirt and the vegetation is not cluttered everywhere and some of the smaller plants are cut high from the ground in such a way that you can find your ball pretty easily and often have a decent shot to the green (unless you are way right/left towards the houses/o.b. or the ball rolls right into a big bush). Plus the desert floor is hard enough that you'll get a lot more roll thru there and it's canted towards the fairway so that the ball will kick back into the grass.

The course was in superb condition, fairways excellent, greens very slick. The course is rather new so the clubhouse is very modern, state of the art, good service, nice practice range and shortgame area. Overall a very fun and enjoyable round.
