“Expensive for the round”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Mountain Course is a decent tract, but it is pretty boring until about the 14th hole. Fairways weren't in the best of shape, typical for a public course perhaps. All in all, we felt it was overpriced for the quality. There are more courses around the area that provide a better value.

“A great option when you tire of paying $30 for breakfast at Twenty 6”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Forced by a massive line at Twenty 6 to look for another option for breakfast we headed out to the club house at the nearby Mountain Course. Quick service, good food, a decent price (I assume they have to do this since they want to attract locals to golf). A great option for breakfast or lunch if you are staying at the La Quinta. Or of course for a snack/drinks if you're golfing here.

An amazing amazing view of the course and surrounding mountains out the panoramic windows.

“Phenomenal”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

The back nine is simply one of the greatest golfing experiences of my life. After you get through the first hole the course opens up and is something to behold.

Fire ants in the dormant tall grass rough. I never found them because I was always three fairways over.

“Worth Trying...But Not at Full Price”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

My husband played this course during a recent stay at the La Quinta Resort and despite the great reviews, he wasn't overly impressed. To be fair, he is an avid golfer and former PGA pro, so his standards might be higher than others.
His main issue was that the course was extremely understaffed and the golfers were so stacked up that the tee times were running 30 minutes behind and tempers were flaring.
The course is in beautiful condition and is fun to play, though his feeling was that the Norman or TPC courses might have been better choices. And search for a deal, since the $199 greens fee isn't worth paying full price.

“Walk to La Quinta Resort”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Great course located within walking distance to La Quinta Resort and Club. This is one course where the Humana Tournament is played each year.
