I booked a camping spot for Thurs-Sun. Got there late on Thurs and pull up to the gate to find it locked w/a sign that says open Fri-Sun! This was a pretty long narrow road and we were pulling a 35ft camper with no place to turn around, so we had to back out (2 more hours!) A security guy pulls up to question us and we told him we had reservations, he said, yeah sorry, there only open on the weekends, they'll be open tomorrow. He gave us directions to a nearby hotel in town for the night. The next day we decided to go back and see what it was like. We get there and it was very nice. They had a huge pool which is what we wanted, with a child and temps in the 100's. The girl gave us a lakefront site w/full hook-ups. We specifically asked her if the pool was going to be open today, she said yes. We go to our site, spend 2 hours setting up, get in our suits and head to the pool. It's locked. We go to the front again and she says, I'm sorry it's not going to be open today! I was infuriated!! So we packed up and left. Stayed in a hotel in town! Aside from our hassles, it is a nice campground. But they charge for EVERYTHING, even if your camping there. It's $6/day to fish, and fishing closes at like 7 or 8, when they start biting! They have 3 sessions a day for the pool (2 hours each) and EACH sessions costs $2/person to swim. There is no swimming or watercraft allowed on lake. It did look like they had some good hiking there. Make sure you have air conditioning cuz it is hot, and the pools hit and miss.
