After learning that Lavender Bistro got the best overall TA rating in La Quinta we decided to try it on our second night of a week stay in LQ. The food and service are outstanding. We shared the calamari starter and we both chose the Black Angus Filet Mignon for a main. There were many tempting choices but that's what we felt like. The starter and the steaks rate very high with this very picky couple. We wished we had room for dessert but couldn't do it. We're going back Sunday before we leave for home. Bonus - Tuesdays all wines are half price and Sundays you can BYO with no corkage. Don't know how long that will last but it is great right now. Thanks Lavender Bistro for a wonderful evening.

this is a pefect spot for a hot night. Pretty lighting and many tables under the stars. Thursdays feature a a cold seafood special (shrimps) that are excellent. Husband's lamb shank was too. Didn't like the service much, as the waiter kept trying to fill up our wine glasses, even after we nicely indicated WE wished to control the wine pouring.

Owner Nicolas Despras and Exec Chef Emmanuel Janin have made this hidden gem sparkle and pass the do-or-die two year mark.

The bistro ambience, both inside and outside, cultivate a certain bistro informality. Don't let it fool you. The service is impeccable. Check their "deals." We went on a thursday which is half off all cold seafood appetizers. I admit to savoring 24 bluepoints fresh with their briny taste and served with any kind of dip you might want. I chose the classic Red Wine Mignonette and a soft spoken Horseradish Cream.

The Sauteed Filet of Dover Sole was cooked to perfection with just enough Spinach, Basmati Rice and Lemon-Caper Beurre Blance sauce to enhance without smothering the delicate fish.

We fawned over the Roasted Honey Brine Pork Chop presented with Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, Gingered Pineapple and Mango Chutney. Another perfect enhancement.

I wont ruin the surprise desserts. Freshly made and a worthy delight. So delightful, I refused to share! Even the no-dessert person must make an exception here.

We've had six dinners at the Lavender during their busy March 2009 and 2010 seasons. The patio setting is lovely, and inside, away from the bar is good . The wine list and food were excellent. We've gone with several friends, and we all agreed it was our favorite La Quinta restaurant.

The Lavender Bistro boasts a perfect patio for desert dining and the cuisine and service almost live up to the perfection of the patio. My fellow guests reported that their fish dishes were well prepared and a foie gras brulee was delicious. The lamb rack was generous but the meat was not top notch. Service was good if a tad ingratiating for our taste. The wine list is short but reasonably priced - a refreshing change from other comparable desert restaurants that seem to think they should price their wine as if they are in New York. We will go again.
