“Best Kept Secret in East County!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

It's Restaurant Week and what a gastronomical feast I had at Vine Cottage the other night! The coconut soup was wonderful, the salmon was moist and tender with the most amazing spices, and the chocolate brownie surprised and delighted me, who really doesn't do chocolate! The sweet smell and taste of cinnamon was such a surprise and delight! I have already sent 6 people to try this amazing find, and am going back tonight to share it with my mother! I am so happy they are extending this one week - although they've changed up the menu a tad - so that my girlfriends and I can enjoy it! It is so small - maybe 6 actual tables, plus a nice patio outside and a bar inside - that it is surprising how beautiful and tasty the food is. This is dining, not just eating out! A very nice romantic change to a date night also!

By the way, the food is only half the experience. The ambiance, the servers, the manager, the music all add up to a wonderful eveing!

“Relaxing bliss”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

A berry nice Zin for her and a chewy local stout for him on a relaxing patio warmed and lighted by flame heaters. Start with a dark green and crispy kale salad, add a plate of mussels Belgique and their new shrimp stuffed Chile and your supper is almost complete. Finish with a nice creme brulee under the moonshine and call it a blissful evening for two.

“Possibly the Best Margherita Pizza I've Ever Eaten”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013

Possibly better than any I've eaten in NYC or Italy or elsewhere. Plus they now have their liquor license for wine and beer. The pizza was delicious, with ultra-fresh ingredients and the tomato sauce was just exquisite. The wine list is still a little short, with few familiar California names, and the beer list is devoid of any regular names. Service is quick, and the new(?) owners seem to be striving hard. In addition we visited during Happy Hour so all our prices were low, and the pizza only seven fifty. The ambience is romantic, warm, and cozy. The original owners clearly spent a lot of money on the decoration and did an excellent job.

“Still the same, but....”

Very happy the vine cottage is back in business. Seems that they have kept the quality of the food at a high standard. Can't wait for the wine license to be accepted.
