$140 (after 10$ cash discount) is a bit steep, but its definitely fun. Can't get such a view from anything else, even a plane or helicopter - since you are floating at such low elevations.

You park atop a high cliff and can watch hang gliders soaring from there. I could not understand why there were a lot of men with telephoto lens pointing straight down from the cliff instead of out to sea or at the hang gliders. Turns out that below the cliff is a nudist beach (Black Beach).

What a cool place to grab a drink and sit and watch the gliders. You can also take a ride with them if you want. It looked really fun if you wanted to pay the price.

The gliderport is near the golf course. We got out there about noon, which is about an hour before they usually offer hang gliding. You can do a tandem for $150. There's a $10 discount for cash. The actual hang gliding lasts about 20-30 minutes. Very peaceful, the hang gliders are beautiful and there's even a café with good food while you watch from picnic tables. Takeoffs and landings are extremely smooth.

You can see the gliders from La Jolla, easy drive to the glider port. Have a picnic, walk down the cliffs to the beach. Or just hang out and view Nice Sunday afternoon...
