Just watching the intrepid aviators running off the cliff with their hang gliders and powered parachutes is a gas!

But if you choose, pull out some cash and take off into the brisk Pacific breeze with an experienced "co-pilot". You won't ever forget it!

Loved watching the gliders and admiring the beautiful San Diego coastline. A relaxing way to spend the afternoon. Nice spot for a picnic.

This has always been one of my favorite spots in SD, even just to stop for a few minutes to take in the view. Black's Beach is 400+ feet below and a nice burner on the way back up. Black's is always a naked sausage-fest but it's usually not too crowded and remains to be one of the most beautiful beaches in SoCal.

No gliders the day we were there but great views from the cliffs, including the the beach below, the town of La Jolla to the south and Torrey Pines golf courses to the north. Huge area with plenty of space to view. Surfers could hike down a narrow path to the beach far below. The beach is enormous and stretches for miles. No hang-gliders that day though which is too bad. They were all over during the golf championship a few weeks earlier.

Blasted GPS kept sending me here rather than torrey pines reserve. Took a minute to figure out there are stairs to the left of the gliders leading to the beach. The stairs to the beach are an amazing and steep workout. The beach wasn't too populated, some surfers, strollers, and the occasional nudist. Pretty flowers were in bloom along with coast. There is no charge to enter here.
