“If you want to be spoiled, stay at Torrey Pines”
Reviewed June 6, 2009

The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The lodge itself is beautiful and quite homey. The food is outstanding and there is a nice variety as well as two restaurants from which to choose. The golf couse is amazing and the pool is wonderful. However, what makes the experience at Lodge at Torrey Pines special is the people. They are helpful, kind, and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We forgot to take the do not disturb sign down and while we were at dinner, they did our room when all we asked for was towels. The turn down service at night complete with slippers, special little mats my the bed and a little gift is wonderful. It is expensive to stay here, but it is worth it for a special occasion or if you just want to be spoiled. Make sure you hike the trails at the State Park next to the lodge. It was so worth our time and a great way to get some exercise.

We stay at Torrey Pines with our family.
Everything was OK, very clean, nice hotel until we went to the restrant.
The service was good, good food, however, when I recieved bill, they charged me
for bringing food from outside,,it was $8 !!! for my bady's milk !!!!
it was unbelivable, very dissapointed !! they CARGED for my baby's MILK !!
if you are travling with bady, DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN MILK !! they will charge you for that !!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Lodge at Torrey Pines, with 2 small children ages 3 and a 5 month old infant - the service was fantastic - there but not in your face, the room was very large (we didn't pony up for a view) with a balcony, the restaurant was great, and the facilities were top notch - beautiful pool, spacious fitness center and of course, the course at Torrey Pines (which is not part of the hotel, but they have 'special priviledges' there) - they helped find us a babysitting service so it made our stay even that better. All in all, I can't wait to return.

We stayed for a few days of peace and quiet amidst a hectic California run around. The hotel has a lovely calm feel to it and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a great beach near the hotel (you have to drive there) but the hotel have staff and food there during the day so you feel quite spoilt. Room was nice and big with a lovely view over the croquet lawn and swimming pool. Restaurants were very good quality. (none of us play golf - and we still loved the place).

We stayed for 5 nights at the Lodge at Torrey Pines. The hotel was simple, elegant yet not too formal. The location is wonderful, a simple drive to La Jolla or Del Mar for dinners, a wonder park to hike in, beaches easily accessable and obviously goif, if your into that. I would recommend the Lodge to travels with or without kids for a quiet, unpretentous place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge at Torrey Pines during our 10-year anniversary trip. We were very impressed by the hotel. Check-in was easy, although we had booked the Taste of California package, and one of our nightly rates was wrong. But they immediatly fixed the problem. Our room was beautiful. We had the standard room with the king bed. The room had a great little sitting area and a desk. The bathroom was spacious. The Taste of California Package came with the following: $100 spa certificate, 2 breakfasts ($50 value each), and a wine and cheese tasting. The hotel has 2 restaurants on site. The Grill is near the golf course and the food and service were very good. You get homemade potato chips and a great sour cream dip when you sit down...mmmm good. The other restaurant was the AR Valentien. This is very upscale, and we decided to only do breakfast here. The breakfast certificates that came with our package could be used at either restaurant or room service. The breakfast at AR Valentien was VERY good. Both our meals were cooked to perfection. For our 2nd breakfast that came with our package, we used room service. We ordered our food the night before and it came right on time. The hot food was still hot and very tasty. On our last evening there, we got our complimentary wine and cheese spread that came with our package. The presentation was very nice and we both enjoyed trying some new wines, which were all from California. The cheeses complimented the wine.My husband played golf on the south course, and said it was very good. I used the spa for a massage and pedicure while I was there and will say that the spa was first class all the way. The Torrey Pines Reserve is great for walking, running and hiking. We walked the Broken Cliff trail and it great going towatd the beach, but the walk back up was a real workout! Check-out was again easy, although as we were reviewing our bill we found a charge for the wine and cheese spread, but it was taken off right away. Overall, the place was great.

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge for one evening to celebrate my birthday and this is the third trip we've made in the last year. We had a Palisade King room with a magnificent view of the ocean. Room service was delicious and their spa the best I've ever been. We love it here and will be back for sure!

For a more casual vibe, The Grill at The Lodge offers a full menu of favorites whether dining indoors or on the patio, while its bar is an ideal gathering place after a day on the course. The Spa at Torrey Pines features signature treatments themed around the beauty and purity of the Pacific coastline. This 9,500 square foot space uses botanical- and marine-based extracts from European product lines Phytomer, SkinCeuticals, Farmhouse Fresh and NV Organics to replenish and restore the body and mind.
