Rising 900 ft+, the peak is a defining feature of La Jolla. The drive to the top is steep and twisting with glimpses of the sea in between verdant gardens and homes. The monumental Cross at the top of the mountain is now incorporated into the Veterans Memorial. It's worthy of a visit but the greater rewards are the sweeping views (on a clear day) from Oceanside to the Southbay, from the Coronado Islands offshore to the Cuyamacas peaks inland. It's a romantic spot too, just to park the car and watch the sunset over the Pacific. I'm sure this is included in some version of Heaven!
